Bae is back and how! The second season of Call Me Bae with Ananya Panday, Vihaan Samat, Gurfateh Pirzada, Vir Das, Lisa Mishra, Varun Sood and more in leading roles will arrive soon. The new season brings in a new member, another ‘behen’ if you may. Shruti Haasan joins the cast of this leading Prime Video series.
The teaser for the second season reveals Bae, still trying to navigate through the humdrums of her life. While juggling between work and personal relationships, Ananya Panday’s Bae befriends Shruti Haasan, who joins the series as another ‘behen.’ As per the makers, a new friend also brings in new complications. It would be interesting to witness Bae deal with personal and professional challenges this season.
During an interview with Filmfare while promoting the first season of Call Me Bae, Ananya had mentioned, “It may seem at a glance that Bae and I are similar, but actually we’re very different from each other. I would say that Ahana from Kho Gaye Hum Khan and I were more similar to each other with similar life experiences. So I could draw a lot of myself for Ahana. But when it comes to Bae, she’s really out of this world. I don’t even know how to describe her. I don’t know anyone around me who’s like Bae. She actually exists outside of reality. While I didn’t take too much of myself, there were qualities in her that I liked, which I hope to take away from the show – her kindness, positivity and general upbeat nature.”
The release date for the season is yet to be revealed. As of now, the teaser shows glimpses of what’s to come and how Bae decides to cope with the drama around her.
