With the announcement of Dostana 2 starring Vikrant Massey and Lakshya, the first rom-com director Taurn Mansukhani shared interesting deets about the spiritual sequel. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, he recently reacted to the buzz around Dostana 2. He revealed that he first heard about the project through social media. Tarun Mansukhani Reveals Getting To Know About Dostana 2 Via Social Media
When asked how he came to know about Dostana 2 with Vikrant Massey and Lakshya, Tarun Mansukhani said, “Social Media.” The director mentioned, “It has been in talks for a while now, with Vikrant, Lakshya. I don’t know whose the girl.”
Speaking of, if he feels the new makers can do justice to the rom-com sequel, Tarun said, “I hope so. I can only hope that they do justice to it, and I’m sure they will as well. And, I hope they manage to recreate the kind of magic, and I wish them all the best. I mean, that’s all I can say.”
About Dostana 2
Dostana 2 is an upcoming Hindi romantic comedy produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and directed by Collin D’Cunha. Originally, the film featured a cast including Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Lakshya, but the lineup was later reshuffled. Currently, Vikrant Massey and Lakshya are confirmed to play the lead roles.
The female lead has not been officially announced yet, but rumours suggest that Sreeleela is in talks for the part. The project was put on hold in 2021 but has now resumed development. Shooting is expected to begin in early 2026, with a planned release towards the end of the year.

Apart from the promotional assets and its genre, the factor that works in favor of Tere Ishk Mein is its release date. It is scheduled to release in theaters on November 28. Since there are no other major releases from Bollywood, it is arriving solo. Even a holdover like De De Pyaar De 2 and one-week-old releases, Mastiii 4 and 120 Bahadur, are doing dull numbers in the Hindi market. Due to this, the romantic drama has already secured a show count of around 11,000, and it is expected to extend a bit further.
Box office day 1 prediction of Tere Ishk Mein
Considering all the aforementioned factors, Tere Ishk Mein is likely to earn 9-11 crore net at the Indian box office on its day 1, which is a good number for a non-holiday release. There’s a strong chance of hitting double digits, and the film might even exceed the predicted range through spot bookings if initial word of mouth is highly favorable.
With 9-11 crores likely to come in on day 1, Dhanush will be delivering his biggest Bollywood opening ever by surpassing Raanjhanaa (5.12 crores) with 75.78-114.84% higher earnings.
