Miranda Priestly Returns: The Devil Wears Prada 2 Teaser Reveals First Look of Simone Ashley

Nearly two decades after the original film became a global pop culture phenomenon, The Devil Wears Prada 2 has released a new teaser and poster that offer audiences a fresh glimpse into the upcoming sequel. The film revisits the glamorous yet demanding world of high fashion that captivated viewers when the first movie debuted in 2006. With the return of its central characters and the addition of new faces, the sequel aims to continue the story that made the original film one of the most memorable fashion-themed comedies of its time. The newly released teaser also provides the first look at actor Simone Ashley, whose role in the sequel has generated considerable interest among fans.

The upcoming film brings back the core cast that defined the original story. Meryl Streep returns as Miranda Priestly, the powerful and intimidating editor of the fictional fashion magazine Runway. Anne Hathaway reprises her role as Andy Sachs, the former aspiring journalist who once struggled to adapt to the demanding expectations of Miranda’s fashion empire. Emily Blunt also returns as Emily Charlton, Miranda’s ambitious and sharp-tongued assistant, while Stanley Tucci once again plays Nigel, the experienced and witty fashion insider who served as one of Andy’s few allies in the first film. The reunion of these four characters signals a continuation of the dynamic relationships that drove much of the original film’s narrative.

The teaser opens with a dramatic scene that echoes the tone of the first movie. Miranda Priestly appears unexpectedly at Andy’s door, immediately re-establishing her commanding presence. Andy appears surprised by the visit, but Miranda quickly reminds her who is in charge by instructing her to “pull herself together” because there is work to be done. The brief exchange suggests that despite the passage of time, Miranda’s authority and sharp demeanor remain unchanged. The scene captures the familiar tension and humor that characterized the relationship between the two characters in the original film.

Another moment from the teaser highlights Miranda’s famously critical eye for fashion. As she evaluates Andy’s outfit, Miranda delivers a cutting remark about the clothing choice, questioning whether Andy intends to wear it for the evening. The interaction reflects the same blend of sarcasm, criticism and icy composure that made Miranda Priestly one of the most recognizable characters in modern film. These short moments suggest that the sequel will retain the tone and character dynamics that audiences remember from the first installment.

In addition to the returning cast, the sequel introduces several new characters. One of the most anticipated additions is Simone Ashley, who briefly appears in the teaser. Although details about her character have not been revealed, her stylish introduction suggests she may play a significant role within the film’s fashion-driven storyline. The supporting cast also includes Kenneth Branagh, who portrays Miranda’s new romantic partner. Other actors joining the project include Sydney Sweeney, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, BJ Novak and Pauline Chalamet, while Lady Gaga is expected to make a cameo appearance.

The film is directed by David Frankel, who also directed the original The Devil Wears Prada. Early promotional footage released previously generated significant attention online. Reports indicate that the earlier trailer became the most viewed comedy trailer in approximately fifteen years, receiving more than 181.5 million views on YouTube within the first 24 hours of its release. The strong response suggests continued interest in the franchise and in the characters that defined the original film.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 1 in the United States and the United Kingdom. Audiences in Australia are expected to see the film slightly earlier, with a release date set for April 30. As anticipation grows, the teaser provides an early indication of how the sequel plans to revisit the high-stakes fashion industry while bringing together familiar characters and introducing a new generation to the Runway universe.

Jennifer Lopez Opens Up About Life After Ben Affleck Split: “I Took a Year Off to Face Everything”

Singer and actor Jennifer Lopez recently spoke about the personal break she took following her separation from Ben Affleck in 2024. During an interview on Good Morning America on March 11, Lopez explained that she intentionally stepped away from work and public commitments for nearly a year in order to process the changes in her personal life. The decision, she said, allowed her to slow down, focus on family and reflect on her own experiences without external distractions.

According to Lopez, the period following the breakup was a time when she consciously decided to “stop everything.” Rather than immediately returning to her professional routine or entering another relationship, she chose to stay home and give herself space to process what had happened. She explained that the year was spent largely out of the public spotlight, without taking on new work projects. For Lopez, the goal of the break was to face her circumstances directly rather than attempting to move past them too quickly. She said the time helped her understand herself better and examine how she wanted to move forward.

During this period, Lopez said her main priority was spending time with her children. She shares twins Maximilian David Muñiz and Emme Maribel Muñiz with her former husband, singer Marc Anthony. The twins recently turned 18 on February 22, marking an important milestone in their lives. Lopez noted that being present for them during this time was especially important as they approached adulthood and began preparing for their next stage, which includes college.

Beyond parenting, Lopez also described the break as a time for personal reflection. She explained that she wanted to examine her own role in the situations she had experienced rather than placing blame elsewhere. According to Lopez, this approach allowed her to view the challenges of the past few years as opportunities for growth. She described asking herself difficult questions about what was happening in her life and how she wanted to change or improve. The process, she suggested, helped her gain a clearer understanding of herself.

After taking time away, Lopez has now returned to performing. She is currently back on stage with her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace, where she continues to perform for audiences. The return to live performances marks a new phase in her career following the period of personal reflection. Lopez described this stage of her life as a positive one, saying she feels happier and more balanced than she has in many years.

In the interview, Lopez referred to her current phase as her “happy era.” She noted that for much of her adult life she had rarely spent time without being in a relationship. From her early twenties onward, she said there had usually been a partner in her life. Experiencing independence now, however, has given her a new perspective. While she did not rule out future relationships entirely, Lopez indicated that she is in no hurry to pursue one at the moment. Instead, she said she wants to protect the sense of stability and happiness she currently feels.

Despite being single, Lopez emphasized that she does not feel alone. She pointed out that her life includes multiple roles and responsibilities, from being a parent to maintaining her career as a performer, actor and entrepreneur. She described feeling grateful for her health, family and the opportunities she continues to have in her professional life.

Lopez and Affleck finalized their divorce in January 2025 after slightly more than two years of marriage. The pair had previously been engaged in the early 2000s before calling off their wedding in 2003 and separating the following year. Nearly two decades later, they rekindled their relationship in 2021 and eventually married. Although the relationship ended again in 2024, Lopez has indicated that she prefers to focus on moving forward rather than dwelling on the past.

Through her recent comments, Lopez has highlighted the importance of taking time for reflection and prioritizing personal well-being. After stepping away from work for a year, she has now returned to performing with a renewed perspective on both her career and personal life.
