Nicole Kidman Opens Up About Co-Parenting After Separation From Keith Urban

Actor Nicole Kidman has spoken publicly about her life following her separation from country music star Keith Urban. In a recent interview with Variety, Kidman reflected on the changes in her personal life and the priorities guiding her decisions after the couple finalised their divorce earlier this year.

Kidman, who is 58, described her current outlook as focused on moving forward in a positive direction. Without discussing specific details about the separation, she emphasised that maintaining stability for her family remains her primary concern. According to the actor, ensuring that her daughters continue to experience a sense of normal life has been a central part of navigating the transition.

The actor shares two daughters with Urban: Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, 17, and Faith Margaret Kidman Urban, 15. In the interview, Kidman highlighted the importance of keeping family relationships steady despite the changes in her personal circumstances. She explained that her focus has been on preserving a supportive family environment and maintaining a cooperative approach to parenting.

Kidman also indicated that she prefers to keep details of the divorce private. While acknowledging that the past year has been challenging, she said she has chosen not to discuss the specifics publicly out of respect for the people involved. Instead, she described her current mindset as centred on the idea that, despite the separation, the family remains connected through shared responsibilities and mutual care for their children.

The couple married in 2006 and had been considered one of the entertainment industry’s long-standing partnerships. After nearly two decades together, their divorce was finalised in January 2026. According to reports, Kidman was granted primary custody of their daughters, while both parents continue to share joint responsibility for important decisions affecting their children. This arrangement reflects a cooperative co-parenting structure designed to support the well-being of their family.

Alongside her personal life, Kidman also spoke about her professional plans for the coming year. The actor remains active in film and television and expressed enthusiasm about several upcoming projects. Among them is the sequel to the 1998 fantasy film Practical Magic, in which she is expected to reunite with co-star Sandra Bullock. The original film developed a strong following over the years, and its continuation has generated interest among audiences.

Kidman also discussed her role in the upcoming Scarpetta, which will be released on Prime Video. The project is based on the popular crime novels featuring the character Dr. Kay Scarpetta and represents another step in Kidman’s continued involvement in television productions in addition to her film work.

Despite these professional commitments, Kidman explained that her current priorities lie largely at home. She indicated that she plans to spend the upcoming summer focusing on family activities and being present for her daughters during an important stage of their lives. According to the actor, while she still has many professional ambitions, she feels that this period requires a greater emphasis on parenting.

Kidman also mentioned that she remains interested in returning to theatre in the future. Potential off-Broadway productions and regional theatre projects are ideas she continues to consider. However, she described these plans as part of a longer-term vision rather than immediate goals, explaining that she has placed them in what she described as her “future” plans.

Throughout her career, Kidman has been known for balancing high-profile film roles with personal commitments. In this stage of her life, she indicated that maintaining that balance remains important. While continuing to explore new creative opportunities, she has chosen to approach them in a way that aligns with her responsibilities as a parent.

As she moves forward after her divorce from Keith Urban, Kidman’s comments suggest a focus on stability, privacy and gradual progress. By prioritising family while remaining engaged with her work in film and television, she is navigating both personal and professional transitions during a period of change in her life.

20 years of Water: Lisa Ray on working with Deepa Mehta, “She saw something in me before I recognised it fully myself”

Deepa Mehta’s iconic Water completed 20 years recently. Starring Lisa Ray and John Abraham, the movie told the story of a widow. On the film’s 20th anniversary, Ray looked back at it in an interview with us.

It’s been 20 years since Deepa Mehta’s Water. You are still fondly remembered as the fragile incandescent widow Kalyani. How do you recall Kalyani?
Kalyani is by far one of the most beloved characters I’ve had the opportunity to create. When Deepa Mehta sent me the script, I was in drama school in London. Once she entrusted me with Kalyani, I realised one thing.
What is that?
I could not ‘act’ my way into her being. I had to become Kalyani and I dedicated myself over many months of prep into attaining her walk, her posture, her way of seeing the world through intense workshops and visiting Vrindavan. Once I reached Sri Lanka to film, I wore a simple cotton sari and never changed. It was magical to fully immerse myself and find the Kalyani hidden in the depths of my psyche.
Were you surprised when Deepa offered you this role? No one could imagine you would do justice to such a traditional Indian character. But you did!
Thank you. Deepa and I have a strong and unusual relationship you might say that goes beyond director or mentor. She saw something in me before I recognised it fully myself. And when I enrolled in a serious drama school in London after turning down many offers and post several successful film releases, she felt I had the dedication to pull it off.
Water is not the only film you did with Deepa. What is she like as a director and a friend? Is it easier to collaborate with a female director than a male?
I don’t see it in terms of gender, but human being. Deepa and I had a special bond from the start- and I am utterly a director’s actor. I prefer to surrender to a director, and I trust Deepa’s vision.

Do you recall incidents from the shooting of Water, which have stayed with you?
Many many! We were a very bonded crew – though the subject matter was heavy, we kept it light behind the scenes. There were zero egos at play. I do recall that one game we enjoyed was tugging at John’s elaborately tied dhoti every time I passed by, which entailed him gathering the pleats and running to have it tied again.
Tell me about your life at this point of time? What are the activities that occupy your mind the most? What is it like dividing your time between being a wife/mother and a professional?
I am an advocate for hormonal wellness in menopausal women- after suffering silently we are done. We need to talk about menopause as the transition into a women’s wisdom during her primetime years. In India, women need access to choices and solutions like HRT (hormone replacement theory) and I have co-founded NuHer, a platform for women’s midlife care. I am busier than ever but doing what I believe in- health awareness talks and appearances and the occasional project that I enjoy like Four More Shots Please. I guard my private life as private.
How often do you visit India? Do you have family and friends here? Do you think of yourself as an Indian at heart?
Of course, I’m Indian in every way. But in midlife as a woman, I have stopped explaining myself or seeking any validation. That’s what makes midlife women both powerful and threatening to society. We are accomplished and have nothing to prove. My family and I live peacefully in Goa. With gratitude and in serenity.

Naga Chaitanya’s Rugged Transformation for Vrushakarma Leaves Fans Talking

Actor Naga Chaitanya recently offered fans a glimpse into his preparation for the upcoming film Vrushakarma by sharing several behind-the-scenes moments on social media. The actor posted a carousel of images on Instagram that highlighted his physical transformation and snippets from the film’s production process. The post was captioned “Being Arjun,” referring to the character he portrays in the film. The images quickly gained attention online, with fans reacting to the actor’s new rugged appearance and the intensity suggested by the visuals.

The first photograph in the carousel shows Naga Chaitanya working out in a gym, lifting dumbbells while displaying a noticeably muscular physique. His chiselled abs and defined build indicate the extensive training he appears to have undergone for the role. The actor is also seen sporting a thick beard, which contributes to a tougher and more rugged look than audiences are accustomed to seeing from him. His focused expression in the photograph suggests the physical and mental discipline required to prepare for the character.

Another image from the post captures a more candid moment in which the actor looks away from the camera. A visible trace of blood on his neck hints at the action-oriented and possibly dangerous situations his character may encounter in the story. Although the context of the scene is not explained, the detail suggests that the film may involve intense sequences or conflict as part of its narrative.

The carousel also includes a photograph taken during what appears to be a mid-production moment with members of the film’s team. In that image, Naga Chaitanya is seen sitting on a couch alongside crew members while smiling for the camera. The relaxed atmosphere contrasts with the more intense images earlier in the post, offering a glimpse into the working environment on set. Another frame shows the actor standing confidently while surrounded by numerous cameras, which may indicate a promotional shoot or a filming setup involving multiple recording angles.

In the final slide of the carousel, Naga Chaitanya performs a small ring trick, adding a lighter moment to the sequence of images. The playful gesture stood out to several viewers online. Among those reacting to the post was actor Sparsh Shrivastava, known for his performance in Laapataa Ladies, who commented that the ring trick was his favourite part of the carousel. Social media personality Orry also responded to the post with fire emojis, adding to the online buzz surrounding the images.

Vrushakarma is described as an adventure thriller in which Naga Chaitanya plays a treasure hunter named Arjun. For the role, the actor reportedly chose to undergo a significant physical transformation rather than relying solely on styling or makeup to alter his appearance. The training and preparation appear to have been aimed at creating a believable action-oriented character capable of navigating the challenges depicted in the film’s storyline.

The project is directed by Karthik Dandu, who previously gained recognition for directing the supernatural thriller Virupaksha. The film also features actor Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead. It is produced by BVSN Prasad and Sukumar B under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Sukumar Writings. Since its announcement, the film has generated curiosity due to its premise, which reportedly involves mysteries and ancient secrets connected to the treasure-hunting narrative.

While many details about the storyline remain undisclosed, the images shared by Naga Chaitanya provide an early indication of the tone and scale of the project. As production continues, fans are likely to receive further updates about the film, its characters and its release plans.

Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana Co-Star Indira Krishna Shares On-Set Picture With Him

Actor Indira Krishnan, who previously appeared alongside Ranbir Kapoor in the film Animal, is set to reunite with the actor in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming mythological epic Ramayana. While the two shared a tense relationship on screen in the 2023 crime drama, their roles in the new film present a significantly different dynamic. In Ramayana, Indira Krishnan will portray Kaushalya, the mother of Lord Ram, a character played by Ranbir Kapoor. The casting brings the actors together again in a narrative rooted in mythology rather than the dark and intense themes explored in their earlier collaboration.

Recently, Indira Krishnan shared a photograph with Ranbir Kapoor on social media, offering a glimpse from what appears to be the sets of Ramayana Part 2. The picture quickly attracted attention from fans online, particularly because it suggested that filming for the sequel has already begun. In the photo, Ranbir Kapoor appears in a clean-shaven look, which is believed to be part of his appearance for the role of Lord Ram. The image was shared on Instagram along with a heartfelt message from the actress, in which she expressed admiration for Ranbir and reflected on their experience working together.

In her post, Indira praised Ranbir Kapoor’s dedication and talent as an actor. Quoting acting teacher Scott Freeman, she mentioned that lived experience, imagination and empathy are essential tools for any performer. She went on to describe Ranbir as an actor whose performances often stand out and leave a lasting impression. The actress also mentioned that she had a pleasant day working with him and appreciated the guidance and tips he shared during their interaction. Her message suggested that the two share a warm professional relationship beyond their on-screen collaborations.

The post quickly drew reactions from fans, many of whom expressed excitement about the upcoming film. Several comments referred to the mythological characters the actors will portray, with fans mentioning “Ram ji” and “Kaushalya maa.” Others wrote about their anticipation to see the chemistry between the two actors in the film. The photo and accompanying note also sparked discussion about the scale and casting of the project, which has been widely reported as one of the most ambitious mythological films currently in production in India.

Recent reports suggest that Ranbir Kapoor has begun filming for Ramayana Part 2 in Mumbai. Other cast members are expected to join the shoot in the coming weeks. Actors Sunny Deol and Yash are reportedly scheduled to begin filming soon as the production continues to expand its schedule. According to reports, the second installment of the film will focus on events following the abduction of Sita, a key turning point in the epic narrative.

The film features an ensemble cast portraying major characters from the Ramayana. Actor Sai Pallavi will appear as Sita, while Sunny Deol is expected to portray the character of Hanuman. Kannada actor Yash, known for his role in the KGF franchise, will play Ravana. The project is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari and is planned as a multi-part cinematic adaptation of the ancient epic.

The first installment of Ramayana is scheduled to release in theatres during the Diwali festival this year. The second part is expected to arrive later, with reports indicating a planned theatrical release in 2027. As filming progresses and cast members share glimpses from the sets, the project continues to generate interest among audiences eager to see how the epic story will be interpreted on the big screen.

Kritika Kamra Stuns In White Gown At Wedding Reception With Gaurav Kapur

Actors Kritika Kamra and television host Gaurav Kapur made their first public appearance as a married couple during their wedding reception in Mumbai on March 12. The newlyweds drew attention as they arrived together outside the venue, holding hands and posing briefly for photographers gathered to capture the celebration. Their appearance came just a day after the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at their Bandra residence. The reception served as a larger gathering for friends and well-known figures from the entertainment and sports industries who joined the couple in celebrating the beginning of their married life.

Kritika and Gaurav stepped out of the venue hand-in-hand, smiling as they paused for photographs before returning to the event. The wedding was conducted as a registered ceremony and attended by a limited group of close friends and family members. The couple chose to keep the event simple and intimate, hosting it in their own residence rather than a large venue. The ceremony took place during sunset, creating a scenic setting with warm golden light that added a distinctive visual element to the photographs later shared online.

Despite the relatively small scale of the wedding ceremony, several well-known personalities were present. Guests included actors Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi, along with Soha Ali Khan, Malaika Arora and Rhea Chakraborty. A number of former Indian cricketers also attended the event, including Ajit Agarkar, Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan and Virender Sehwag. Following their wedding, Kritika and Gaurav shared a joint message reflecting on the significance of celebrating the occasion in a personal and meaningful way. In their statement, they expressed gratitude for being able to begin their new chapter surrounded by family and close friends in their Mumbai home. The couple emphasised that sharing important moments with loved ones had always been important to them, which influenced their decision to keep the ceremony intimate.

Professionally, Kritika Kamra has established herself as a familiar face in Indian television and digital entertainment. She has appeared in projects across multiple platforms, including television shows and streaming productions such as Mitron and Hush Hush. Gaurav Kapur, meanwhile, is widely recognised as a sports television presenter and host, known for his work covering cricket and other major sporting events in India. Their wedding and reception brought together colleagues and friends from these different professional spheres, marking a significant personal milestone for the couple.

Sankalp Web Series Review | A Political Game Anchored by Nana Patekar

Filmmaker Prakash Jha returns to familiar territory with Sankalp, building a layered political drama that examines how ideology, mentorship and institutional influence shape power over time. Spread across three decades, the series explores politics as a long strategic game where influence is cultivated patiently within systems rather than displayed through overt authority.

At the centre of this narrative stands Kanhaiyalal aka Ma’at Saab (Nana Patekar), a mentor figure who quietly shapes the careers of young aspirants preparing for India’s most competitive civil service examinations. His philosophy echoes the statecraft of Chanakya, the legendary thinker who guided Chandragupta Maurya and built the administrative backbone of the Mauryan empire. Ma’at Saab believes that real power lies in shaping institutions. Over the years he mentors promising students who go on to become IAS and IPS officers, gradually forming a network of administrators and police officials who carry forward his ideological vision within the system.

This quiet architecture of influence forms the backbone of the series. As these officers rise through the ranks, their loyalty to Ma’at Saab evolves into deep ideological alignment, turning them into a formidable force operating within the machinery of governance.

The political tension of the story emerges from a fractured friendship that eventually grows into a strategic rivalry. On the opposing side stands Chief Minister Prashant Singh (Sanjay Kapoor), supported by his longtime associate and party president Waqar Mapillah (Neeraj Kabi). Their political journey intersects with Ma’at Saab’s influence as the narrative tracks how decisions made years earlier continue to shape alliances, careers and political loyalties.

Among the ensemble, it is Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub who leaves the strongest impression as Aditya. Aditya carries emotional depth and moral conflict, gradually emerging as the narrative anchor of the first season. Zeeshan Ayyub delivers a performance that balances intensity and vulnerability, allowing the audience to engage with the ethical dilemmas embedded within the political system. In many ways, his arc positions him as the central hero of the season.

Nana Patekar anchors the series with characteristic restraint and authority. His Ma’at Saab operates through calm conviction and ideological clarity rather than dramatic theatrics. The character commands attention through measured dialogue and sharp observation, embodying a strategist who patiently shapes outcomes across decades.

The portrayal of Chief Minister Prashant Singh, however, feels comparatively underwhelming. The character appears designed as a leader who holds power yet remains politically dependent on others, particularly Waqar. Sanjay Kapoor’s performance leans toward stagy expressions and theatrical dialogue delivery, which weakens the character’s impact. A sharper and more menacing tone in speech might have added greater weight to the role.

Waqar’s character, on the other hand, carries the aura of a seasoned political operator. The narrative suggests that he possesses the experience and acumen to occupy the throne himself, yet chooses to function as a (sort of) kingmaker, placing Prashant Singh in the Chief Minister’s chair while exercising influence from behind the scenes.

Despite these uneven notes, Sankalp sustains its intrigue through layered storytelling and morally complex characters. The series avoids clear hero-villain binaries, allowing several characters to operate within shades of grey shaped by ambition, ideology and personal loyalty.

The season brings its immediate narrative conflicts to a close while clearly hinting at a larger political game ahead. New ambitions and shifting alliances suggest that the strategic world built around Ma’at Saab is far from settled.

Sankalp ultimately delivers a political drama driven by strategy, ideology and institutional power. Anchored by Nana Patekar’s commanding presence and strengthened by Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub’s standout performance, the series offers an engaging watch for viewers drawn to political storytelling shaped by long-term strategy and complex character arcs.
