Actor-politician Thalapathy Vijay has recently found himself at the center of public attention following reports that his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, has filed for divorce before the Chengalpattu district court.
While speculation surrounding their relationship continues to circulate, Vijay has chosen to remain silent on personal matters. Instead, he turned his focus toward encouraging students appearing for their board examinations.
On March 2, Vijay took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share a heartfelt message addressed to Class 12 students in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry who are currently appearing for their public examinations.
In his message, he extended warm wishes and urged students to approach their exams with courage and confidence. Addressing them affectionately as younger brothers and sisters, he encouraged them to remain calm and fearless while facing this important academic milestone.

His message coincided with the commencement of the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Education (TN HSE) +2 examinations, conducted by the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE). The exams are scheduled to take place from March 2 to March 26, 2026, with theory papers held between 10 AM and 1:15 PM.
The tentative date for the announcement of results has been set for May 8, 2026. Students are required to secure a minimum of 35 marks to pass.
Vijay’s note to students comes at a time when his personal life has become a subject of intense discussion.
He married Sangeetha Sornalingam in 1999, and the couple share two children — Jason Sanjay and Divya Saasha. After nearly three decades of marriage, Sangeetha has reportedly approached the family court seeking dissolution of the marriage.
According to the petition, the marriage has been described as having “irretrievably broken.” She has also sought permanent alimony and requested continued residence in the matrimonial home in Neelankarai until the matter is resolved or alternate arrangements are made.
The court has reportedly issued notice to Vijay, asking him to appear in person on April 20. Further proceedings are expected to continue on the same date.
