Bollywood’s iconic “He-Man” and one of the most beloved actors of the Hindi film industry, Dharmendra, breathed his last on November 24. The veteran superstar, who had been discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital earlier this month, was reportedly recovering at home. However, his condition became critical on Sunday morning, prompting an ambulance to arrive at his Juhu residence.
Salim Khan Remembers His Bond With Dharmendra
In a touching throwback, Sholay writer and Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, who turned 90 today, shared memories of his long-standing friendship with Dharmendra. Back in 1998, the two had reunited for the Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, and Kajol-starrer Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya.
In a behind-the-scenes clip, Salim Khan reflected on their association, saying: “Dharam ji se mera bohot hi purana association hai, 1958-1959 se. Both of us had come together, both of us have seen a lot of struggle. Aur bohot si cheezein common bhi hain. He’s a wonderful person and jab bhi inko khayal aaya ki iss film mein kis ko liya jaaye toh inko pehla khayal Dharam ji ka hi aaya. He’s like a family member and like an elder brother to us. That’s all I can say about him.”

Dharmendra’s death comes just two weeks before what would have been his 90th birthday. His contribution to Indian cinema, both as a charismatic actor and a beloved public figure, has left an indelible mark on Bollywood.
