The upcoming film Ramayana is set to share a new update on April 2. The makers, producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh Tiwari, have planned this reveal to match the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. This is expected to be an important step in the film’s overall promotion.
The new content will give audiences their first proper look at the main actors in their roles. Viewers will see Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. This will be the first time that the audience will see how these well known characters have been presented in the film.
The focus of this reveal is not on action or large scale visuals. Instead, it is meant to show how each character has been imagined. According to reports, the idea is to introduce the story through its characters first. A source close to the project said, “This asset is designed to introduce the world of Ramayana through its characters. It’s more personal and rooted in how each role has been envisioned. The scale and action will be explored in a separate asset that will arrive in a couple of months.”
Apart from the main cast, the reveal may also include other actors who are part of the film. These include Rakul Preet Singh, Lara Dutta, Vivek Oberoi, Arun Govil, and Kunal Kapoor.
This reveal is part of a longer plan. Reports suggest that the makers are preparing a seven month promotional campaign. During this time, they will release different types of content to gradually build interest in the film.

A separate video focusing on the film’s scale, action, and overall world is expected to be released in the coming months. The film is planned as a two part story. The music will be composed by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman, bringing together international and Indian styles.
The first part of Ramayana is currently scheduled to release during Diwali 2026.
