Priyanka Chopra recently celebrated a major career milestone as she walked the red carpet for the premiere of her upcoming Hollywood film The Bluff in Los Angeles. The glamorous event saw her joined by husband Nick Jonas along with co-stars including Vin Diesel and Karl Urban.
During her red carpet interaction, Priyanka Chopra candidly opened up about performing action sequences in the film. When asked about the intense stunts shown in the trailer, she revealed that she relied on her stunt double for some of the most dangerous moments.
She explained that scenes involving extreme physical risk — such as crashing into glass — were handled by professionals. Emphasizing safety, she shared that the filmmakers were equally firm about not letting her attempt those shots.
Priyanka clarified that her decision wasn’t about fear but responsibility.
She stated that she isn’t trying to be a daredevil on set and prefers focusing on her performance rather than risking injury. According to her, the emotional depth of a dramatic story often requires authenticity through expression, not unnecessary danger.
She added that her role demanded vulnerability and realism, which meant being present for close-up moments where audiences could feel the pain and intensity of the character — something that doesn’t always require extreme stunts.
Set against the rich historical backdrop of the Cayman Islands, The Bluff follows the story of a former pirate whose peaceful life is disrupted when her violent past resurfaces.
Priyanka portrays Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden — a formidable ex-pirate attempting to leave her brutal history behind while building a new life with her family.
The film marks her second collaboration with filmmakers Joe Russo and Anthony Russo after their work together on the spy thriller Citadel, which streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
With Season 2 of Citadel already wrapped, Priyanka is continuing to strengthen her global presence through powerful roles.
Also featuring Ismael Cruz Cordova and Safia Oakley-Green, The Bluff is set to premiere on Prime Video on February 25.
