As her web series Mrs. Deshpande releases, Madhuri Dixit opened up about her sons’ career interests, revealing that neither Arin nor Ryan is keen on entering the film industry. In a recent interview, the actor shared how her children view Bollywood and why they have chosen paths far removed from the limelight.
Talking about her elder son Arin, born in 2003, Madhuri said he briefly considered films but eventually found his passion elsewhere. “The older one had some inklings of maybe wanting to be in movies, but his true passion is music. He produces his own music and manages all aspects of it,” she shared with Mid-day. Madhuri added that Arin balanced creativity with academics: “Even in school, he pursued music as a minor and computer science engineering as his major.” She revealed that he has now graduated and is working at Apple, involved in projects related to noise cancellation.
Regarding her younger son Ryan, born in 2005, Madhuri explained that he has no interest in films and is focused on science and technology. “The younger one is in college at USC. He’s very much a STEM guy—interested in technology, engineering, and math. He’s amazing,” she said.
When asked if she consciously kept her children away from Bollywood, Madhuri clarified that the decision was entirely theirs. “I didn’t really keep them away. I took them with me when they wanted, and if they didn’t, I respected that,” she explained. She also described how her children view the film industry: “My kids are different. My younger one isn’t interested in this whole circus—it’s out of it. The older one is more open, but both of them have never really been drawn to the industry.”
While Madhuri Dixit continues to balance her work in films and OTT projects, her sons are pursuing their own careers—one in music and technology, the other firmly rooted in STEM—far away from Bollywood’s spotlight.
