Rumours about Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur’s wedding have set social media buzzing once again. Just when fans were speculating about the duo tying the knot soon, a new viral video surfaced online showing what appears to be their grand wedding ceremony. The clip instantly sent netizens into a frenzy, with many wondering if the actors had secretly married away from the public eye.
The viral video shows Dhanush and Mrunal dressed in traditional South Indian wedding attire. Dhanush is seen wearing a classic white veshti with a gold border paired with a matching shirt, while Mrunal looks radiant in a rich maroon saree. The ceremony appears lavish and star-studded, with several well-known faces seemingly in attendance. In the clip, popular actors Thalapathy Vijay, Dulquer Salmaan and Ajith Kumar can be spotted, along with music composer Anirudh Ravichander and actresses Trisha and Shruti Haasan.
Shared widely across social media platforms, the video came with claims that the wedding took place on January 22 in Chennai. Fans congratulated the couple, while others expressed shock at how quietly the alleged ceremony was conducted. However, the excitement didn’t last long before sharp-eyed viewers began questioning the authenticity of the footage.
Upon closer inspection, it was revealed that the viral video is not real. The entire clip is reportedly AI-generated, created using advanced artificial intelligence tools to mimic real people and events. Adding to the doubt, one social media user pointed out that actor Ajith Kumar, seen in the video, was actually in Dubai on the claimed wedding date — making his presence at the ceremony impossible.
This isn’t the first time wedding rumours have surrounded the two actors. Earlier this month, a report claimed that Dhanush and Mrunal were planning to marry on Valentine’s Day, February 14, in a private ceremony attended only by close friends and family members. The report quickly gained traction, further fuelling speculation among fans.
However, a source close to the actors later dismissed the reports, stating that Mrunal is not getting married next month and that the rumours have spread without any factual basis.
As of now, neither Dhanush nor Mrunal Thakur has made any official announcement regarding their relationship or marriage. The viral video may have fooled many at first glance, but the truth is clear — the wedding exists only in the digital world, not in reality.
For now, fans will have to wait for real updates — and be cautious of AI-generated surprises online.
