It’s a century for Dhurandhar and this time it has been scored in the third weekend. First weekend of the Aditya Dhar film had brought in Rs. 106.50 crores and now the third weekend too compares quite closely with that at Rs. 99.70 crores, which is almost a century again. That’s unheard of and one now waits to see whether this kind of record will ever take place again.
Yes, we have a few films in 2026 which will end up scoring a 100 crores+ third weekend (Ramayana, King – to name a few). However, it’s unlikely that it will ever happen again that it would be for one such film which too had just about scraped past the Rs. 100 crores mark in the first weekend. Reason being that this is of historic significance that the start taken by Dhurandhar was just about good given its budget and whether it’s Ramayana, King or any other biggie which challenges such records, they will actually have an opening of Rs. 150-200 crores due to their hype, and then will settle down in weeks to come.
As for the Ranveer Singh led ensemble affair, it’s not going to settle down anytime soon and will continue to have excellent collections right till the time Border 2 arrives in the Republic Day weekend. There is no stopping the film, as evidenced on its third Sunday as well when a monumental Rs. 40.30 crores were collected at the box office. This would be a dream number for a film on its first day and here Dhurandhar is managing that on its 17th day, which goes on to show how it has become a phenomenon no less.
All Time Blockbuster.
Note: All collections as per various box office sources
