Dharmendra DIES at 89: Actor Dharmendra breathed his last at the age of 89 at his Mumbai residence on November 24. The news of his demise has left all his family members, friends and fans in a state of shock. For the unversed, the veteran actor had to be rushed to Breach Candy Hospital earlier this month after he faced severe respiratory issues. Dharmendra’s impact was such that he was referred to as the He-Man of Bollywood. With his impeccable acting prowess, Dharmendra won audience’s love for over six decades. His last on-screen appearance will be seen in Ikkis, which releases on December 25. In a video that has gone viral, Salman Khan was seen arriving at Mumbai’s Crematorium Centre.

Back on November 11, actor Hema Malini broke her silence on false reports surrounding Dharmendra’s health. She refuted all rumours that the star had passed away. Hema took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her disappointment over the reports.
“What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy,” Hema Malini wrote.
The rumours, had started on November 10 and sparked massive concern among fans and the film fraternity. But Dharmendra’s family was quick to declare them false. His daughter, Esha Deol, too had issued a strong statement on Instagram
She wrote, “THE MEDIA SEEMS TO BE IN OVERDRIVE AND SPREADING FALSE NEWS. MY FATHER IS STABLE & RECOVERING. WE REQUEST EVERYONE TO GIVE OUR FAMILY PRIVACY. THANK YOU FOR THE PRAYERS FOR PAPAS SPEEDY RECOVERY.” Esha had also reassured fans that the actor was under medical care and reportedly stable. Dharmendra was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital yesterday (November 10) after his health turned worse.
