Manish Malhotra is mourning the loss of his mother, Garima Malhotra, who passed away today, March 19.
Following the news, several members of the film industry visited the ace designer’s residence to offer their condolences. Among those who arrived were Malaika Arora, Urmila Matondkar, Alvira Agnihotri, Arjun Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor and Sonali Bendre.
Due to this personal loss, Manish Malhotra will not be showcasing his collection at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week. His show, which was scheduled for Saturday night, has been cancelled.

Known for dressing generations of Bollywood’s biggest stars, Manish Malhotra has often spoken about the bond he shares with his mother.

In an earlier interview, he had said, “For me, I think as far as I can remember, from the age of 5 or 6, I was just born in love with cinema and clothes. I used to dance to every song. I used to cut my mother’s saree. My mother, who came from undivided India, was always conscious of English, so she gave me a tuition teacher in the first standard. And I remember during COVID when my mother told me the story that the tuition teacher told my mother, ‘Mrs. Malhotra, your son keeps commenting on my shoes and not matching my dress, but he doesn’t study.’ She encouraged my love for cinema.”

Taha Shah Badussha to Team Up With Karan Johar for Nazdeekiyan

After impressing audiences with his performance in Heeramandi, Taha Shah Badussha continues to build strong momentum in his career. Working with visionary filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali marked a significant turning point, allowing the actor to showcase his range on a grand and cinematic scale.

Now, he will work in Nazdeekiyan, which also stars Paresh Pahuja, Akanksha Singh and Nikita Dutta in leading roles. This project is bringing together a fresh ensemble. As per the makers, the focus is on modern relationships and layered emotions. Moreover, Nazdeekiyan promises to offer a relatable and engaging story.
Speaking about the moment, Taha shared, “Today feels very special. From being a part of Dharma’s Gippi to now collaborating again with Karan Johar, it truly feels like a full-circle journey. After working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir, I’m excited to explore a completely new space with Nazdeekiyan. I’m grateful and really looking forward to audiences experiencing it.”

The actor also worked in Paro recently. Opening up about the intense narrative of the movie, Taha shared, “Paro is a community of white slaves. They are known as Paro. There are hundreds in some village. Everyone is called Paro. They have no name, which is extremely sad. This is the fight to give them the honour of having their own name. I think it’s an honest story. And the subject is very hard hitting. It hasn’t been spoken about. It is going to build awareness. It is not just a movie for entertainment purposes, it is also something which leaves a message and a moral. It travels through languages and barriers.”
He further added, “When a film ends at least film festivals, people start clapping. But after Paro was shown, we saw that people just went very numb. It took a while for everyone to snap out of it. That kind of reaction means that we have shaken something from within. When we were promoting the film in Chicago, we saw many shed a tear or two as well. That says something.”
