After what feels like an eternity, the fifth and final season of Stranger Things has finally rolled out, carrying with it a surprise in its wake: the inclusion of Linda Hamilton in an electrifying new role. Unlike Brenner, whose warped sense of attachment complicated his authority over her, Dr. Kay regards Eleven purely as an asset-“a weapon that needs to be acquired,” the Duffers noted. That stark detachment makes her an immediate antagonist for Mike and the rest of the group.

It’s finally here: Season 5 has landed after three long years, and the fans have wasted no time diving into the first four episodes, which dropped on November 26. The new season gets off to a relatively quiet start, with the core cast trying to put together what happened after Holly Wheeler’s abduction by a Demogorgon and Eleven’s dogged attempts to track the creature. Hopper then joins the rescue mission, only for the team to become trapped in the Upside Down-a crisis compounded by the looming threat of Vecna breaking into the real world.

Eddie Munson’s time on Stranger Things lasted only a single season, but his presence has lingered far beyond his final moments on screen. Introduced in Season 4 as the metal-loving, misunderstood leader of the Hellfire Club, Eddie landed instantly with viewers. His charisma, outsider charm, and unwavering loyalty turned him into one of the show’s most memorable characters in record time. So when the season closed with Eddie sacrificing himself in the Upside Down-guitar screaming, Demobats closing in-his death struck fans harder than anyone anticipated.

Matt Duffer further explained to Time that killing Eddie was a wrenching choice, mirroring a similarly painful decision when they killed Bob Newby in Season 2. Eddie’s fate was sealed long before cameras started rolling. Chrissy dying in Eddie’s trailer closed off any hope of a clean future for him. Even if he had survived the Upside Down, Hawkins would not have forgiven him. “His story was always going to be a tragic one,” Duffer explained. “Even if he were to live, it would have been a tragic end for him.”

Still, fans cling to a smaller, more realistic hope-not resurrection, but remembrance. A flashback, a dream, a fleeting moment-something that honors Eddie’s place in the story without undermining its narrative weight. The show has used such devices before, making the possibility feel faint but not far-fetched. With Stranger Things Season 5 coming in three parts—four episodes on November 26, three on December 25, and the series finale on December 31—the wait won’t be long before fans find out if the Duffers do grant Eddie Munson one final bow.

The family has said that Dharmendra’s prayer meet is scheduled to be held on November 27 at a Mumbai hotel from 5 pm to 7:30 pm. An old photograph of the star features on the event poster, which reads, “Celebration of Life.” Dharmendra had been admitted to the hospital recently after health complications arose and was on ventilator support prior to his death. His last rites were performed the same day, attended by many Bollywood legends like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan.
