Exclusive: Ben Miles on The Capture and Why The Show Makes Viewers Question What They See Online

Ben Miles is currently promoting his upcoming show The Capture’s third season. He spoke exclusively with Filmfare about the show’s core philosophy of educating audiences about AI and deepfake technologies. Ben also shared more about the characters in the show and how they are going through loneliness because of their professions.

He said, “The professional lives of a lot of characters in the show are their personal lives as well. They have no social group, apart from the people they work with. Their hours are often long and extreme. A person from Counter Terrorism was an advisor on the show, he said that we can’t tell anyone what you do anyway. There is no outlet for anyone. If you’ve come home from work and you’ve had a bad day, you can’t really say that. You can’t share your world with anyone other than the people in that world. It is a claustrophobic environment. So the rare moments in the show where we Rachel carry on her own are really important.”

The actor shared about the growing nature of AI and deepfake. He shared that the show wants the audiences to understand the dangerous risks of fake truths in the digital age. “This also helps us see the human cost of this life. Similar conversations were happening in seasons 1 and 2 as well. You kind of want the audience to really think about what they see and what they consume, particularly online. We talk about the faking of our images in terms of drama. But the less benign version of that is the fake truth that we’re shown so often. We are shown factual stuff not being factual. News footage not being real. How elections are manipulated and wars are manipulated. The use for this technology in a sort of propaganda is vast. And if we get people questioning even in a small way half of what they consume online and on TV, then that is probably a good thing,” he noted.

Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale Open Up on The Bride As It Releases in India

The cast and creators of The Bride! are inviting audiences to experience the film as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen. The movie is directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal. This ambitious reimagining of the iconic Frankenstein myth is full of romance, horror and spectacle. The stars of the film, Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale, opened up about the scale, heart and theatrical magic that audiences can expect from this bold new take on the legendary story.

Jessie Buckley opened up on what audiences should expect from the theatrical experience of The Bride. She said, “I think what Maggie has created here is a love story! A true romance. A wild beating heart. She is acknowledging the monstrous, the misfits, the bits that lurk in the shadows and giving them a vast canvas to live and love from. This film is disobedient, ungovernable and a new cinematic language. Every inch of it is epic. The creation is epic. The script is epic. The filming is epic. The characters are epic. Frankenstein is a mythological, iconic character, as is The Bride. And both of these pedestals that these people occupy in the world already – they’re huge. But what Maggie has done is inject a profound beating heart inside of them. And Larry Sher, the cinematographer, has instilled that same kind of heartbeat behind this. And I think this pulse and this punk and iconic mythological story, I think it’s going to make, as Maggie says, people stand up and scream, ‘Help!’ I mean, I hope that’s what happens. I hope it scares the shit out of them.”
Bringing in his take on the theatrical experience of The Bride, Christian Bale essaying the character of Frank said, “This is a roller-coaster ride of a movie. It’s about who we are. It’s about screaming to the heavens. It’s about being a misfit and trying to figure out who the hell we are. It’s got great momentum and excitement to it. The characters are ridiculously engrossing and fascinating. It’s shot in a very large way. It’s intimate, but it’s epic at the same time. It’s monstrous and it’s human all at once. And I can’t help but feel like something will be missed if people don’t watch it in a theater – that sound, the formality of sitting down, the lights going down, knowing you’re about to go on an absolute journey. You can’t recreate that in your living room.”

The film also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Jake Gyllenhaal and Penélope Cruz. Maggie Gyllenhaal is supported behind the camera by a team of award-winning film artisans, including director of photography Lawrence Sher, production designer Karen Murphy, editor Dylan Tichenor, music supervisor Randall Poster, composer Hildur Gudnadóttir and costume designer Sandy Powell.
The Bride! has released in India on March 6, 2026.
