The actor’s comment playfully referenced a common superstition among sports fans that their team tends to perform better when they avoid watching the game. Bachchan has previously joked on social media that he might be a “bad luck charm” for the Indian team whenever he tunes in live.

On the field, India delivered a performance worthy of champions. After New Zealand opted to field first, India’s batting lineup unleashed a relentless attack, posting a massive 255 for 5 in 20 overs.
