She revealed that the film was incredible and complimented the directors. She also added that Sunny was super in the film. Hema Malini was quoted as saying:

These 3rd weekend numbers placed Sentimental Value ahead of another Neon title, Osgood Perkins’ horror flop Keeper, and even ahead of bigger Hollywood names like One Battle After Another and Tron: Ares, though both of those are reaching the end of their theatrical run. Still, the comparison works in favor of Elle Fanning’s film, showing how well a small release can do when it connects with viewers.
Sentimental Value may not have the wide presence of Predator: Badlands or the push of a major studio, but its performance has made a strong mark. Elle Fanning stands at a solid point in her career right now. In a recent conversation with The Hans India, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma spoke candidly about the way he approaches casting, stressing that an actor’s suitability for a character outweighs their stardom. Citing Amitabh Bachchan as an example, he explained why certain performers align more naturally with specific narrative demands.

Calling Bachchan an actor with “a very immobile face,” Varma said the restraint becomes one of his greatest strengths. “The way he conveys through his eyes and voice modulation, without moving, is an extraordinary thing because that gives him an inherent dignity and an inbuilt poise and classiness, which happens very, very rarely,” he noted, adding that he hasn’t seen another Indian actor who can match that quality.
When asked about Shah Rukh Khan often being viewed as Bachchan’s successor, Varma clarified that their appeal and cinematic sensibilities are markedly different. “Shah Rukh has a very different style, in terms of his charm and everything. Also, the kind of cinema that I grew up on… Deewaar, Trishul, Zanjeer. That’s why I take to Amitabh Bachchan,” he said. He added that Shah Rukh’s romantic films, which shaped much of the actor’s early career, “aren’t my type of films,” making him hesitant to offer broad comparisons.
Addressing whether he sees himself collaborating with Shah Rukh Khan, Varma admitted he does not believe he can meet the expectations associated with the superstar’s image, even after the actor’s shift toward action-led roles post Pathaan and Jawan. “I’m not capable of working in a film with Shah Rukh Khan because of what his fans expect from him. That’s not the kind of cinema I’m qualified to do,” he said.
This aligns with an earlier remark he made in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, where he revealed that Shah Rukh was his initial choice for Company (2002). Varma said he eventually stepped back from the idea because the role required a stillness that he felt didn’t align with the actor’s natural energy. “Shah Rukh has a certain natural body language, very energetic… the idea of Company, Malik’s character, is that he’s very subtle. To make him still, I felt, would be doing an injustice both to him and to the film,” he explained.
Varma recently made news for the re-release of his landmark films Shiva and Rangeela. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan, last seen in Dunki (2023), is currently filming King, directed by Siddharth Anand, which will also mark Suhana Khan’s theatrical debut.

Veteran actor and Bollywood superstar Dharmendra is no more. The actor – born Dharmendra Kewal Krishan Deol, passed away earlier today at his Juhu residence. He was reportedly surrounded by his family and close industry friends when he breathed his last.

On Monday, November 10, reports of the superstar being admitted to South Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital made the headlines. Many reports surfaced stating that the ‘Sholay’ actor was in critical condition and has been put on ventilator support.  A week prior to this hospitilisation, Dharma ji was admitted to same hospital on account of breathlessness and was in the ICU during that period.
Following multiple reports, of Dharmendra’s health deteriorating, his wife, actress-politician Hema Malini took to X (formerly Twitter) and asked fans to pray for his recovery. She tweeted, “In the midst of report I thank everyone for their concern about Dharam ji who is in hospital for observation. He is being continuously monitored and we are all with him. I request you all to pray for his welfare and speedy recovery.“

Born on December 8, 1935 in Nasrali, Punjab, British India (present-day Punjab, India), Dharmendra began his acting in 1960 with the Arjun Hingorani-directed Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere. In a career spanning 65 years, Dharam ji went on to star in over 250 Bollywood films, including some of the industry’s most iconic titles.
Honoured with the Padma Bhushan – India’s third highest civilian honour in 2012, some of Dharmendra’s most loved films include Phool Aur Patthar, Seeta Aur Geeta,, Dharam Veer, Chacha Bhatija, Ghulami, Hukumat, and more. His performances in films like The Burning Train, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Life in a… Metro, Apne Yamla Pagla Deewana series and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani were also immensely loved.
On the work front, Dharmendra last big screen outing was the 2024 sci-fi rom-com Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in the lead. His next release was Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis with Agastya Nanda, scheduled to release on December 2025. The film based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal and centered around the Battle of Basantar during the 1971 India Pakistan War. It stars Agastya Nanda as 2nd Lt Arun Khetarpal.

Dharmendra has been making news for his deteriorating health for weeks. Even though several reports claimed that he had breathed his last, his family was quick to dismiss the rumours and shut them down as false claims. About two weeks back, Dharmendra was discharged from the hospital and had been undergoind treatment at his Mumbai residence. However, on Monday, fresh reports about his deteriorating health resurfaced. Amid recent reports on his health, an ambulance has been spotted at his residence.
When was ambulance spotted?
On Monday afternoon, an ambulance was spotted at the Deol residence. This is where Dharmendra was undergoing treatment in the presence of his family members. The family has not given any official confirmation on this yet. According to reports, security was beefed up at the Pawan Hans crematorium in the city. This unusual activity has raised concerns among fans regarding Dharmendra’s health.

In a candorous interview with Zoom TV, director Amar Kaushik addressed the parallels fans are drawing between Bhediya and Thamma, underlining that the connection goes beyond a simple clash. As one of the architects of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU), he emphasized how both characters inhabit a shared fantasy world and how their stories are evolving.

Reflecting on how Bhediya 1 was structured, he said, “Bhediya 1 underwent a transformation; it had a start, and character development took place, but now we lack the time for that. Nowadays, viewers want to dive straight into the film. Previously, I had to explain the type of wolf he was, its origins, and its backstory. He is an ordinary individual, just like any of us. I could have portrayed him as a werewolf in the initial film when he transformed, but I chose not to; it was a deliberate choice. It evolved naturally to lead us to Thamma, and now we ponder what will unfold next, who he will confront. He can’t simply drain everyone’s blood; there will be adversaries. Who is his foe? An animal? I will conquer it; I need some blood. Yes, two male egos clashing, and upon tasting a drop of blood, he is startled to see his reflection in the mirror, going into a frenzy, thinking, ‘That’s not me.’ People began referring to Bhediya as a dog, saying how adorable he is, so I thought, ‘Hold on, they have no idea what powers this dog is about to unleash.’”
On the driving force behind Bhediya 2, Kaushik revealed, “It’s not solely about the battle; there should be additional elements to make it more enjoyable. It wasn’t as if people pushed us away; if you appreciate fantasies, these films require time, and educating the audience takes time since this isn’t part of our culture. The enthusiasm from teenagers compelled me to create Bhediya 2. I’m uncertain how Thamma and Bhediya will merge, but there’s definitely something brewing.”
He suggests that while the two characters may cross paths, their journey is about much more than physical confrontation it’s about growth, power, and the unfolding of a larger fantasy universe.
