On the third Friday, collections showed an upward trend, and with no major competition, the film witnessed a significant jump on Saturday, day 16. In the meantime, it crossed a staggering 400% returns at the Indian box office.

Actor Vijay Sethupathi recently spoke about working with filmmaker Atlee in the blockbuster Jawan, sharing what impressed him most about the director’s style of storytelling. The 2023 action entertainer, headlined by Shah Rukh Khan, went on to create a massive box office storm and became one of the biggest hits of the year. Sethupathi played the formidable antagonist Kalee Gaikwad in the film, alongside Nayanthara and Deepika Padukone.

In a recent conversation with, Sethupathi opened up about Atlee’s approach to filmmaking and why he enjoys collaborating with the director.
“I like the way Atlee makes his films,” the actor said. “He knows where the scene or shot should rise and how to make it engaging. And he’s very confident about his scenes. So I like the way he works.”
Sethupathi also revealed that the opportunity to share screen space with Shah Rukh Khan was another key reason behind taking up the role. “And then, obviously, it was about Shah Rukh sir. That’s all. Just for them only, I did that film,” he added.

Director Bikas Ranjan Mishra, producers Shiladitya Bora and Madhu Sharma, actors Sachin Khedekar, Vibhore Mayank, Sampa Mandal, Swati Das, Molshri and many others from the cast and crew attended the premiere of Bayaan on the second day of the Red Lorry Film Festival 2026. Lead actress and executive producer Huma Qureshi, shockingly, was absent for the premiere.

A Q-and-A session happened after the screening of the film in the presence of Bikas Ranjan Mishra, Shiladitya Bora, Madhu Sharma and Sachin Khedekar. The film is about a godman accused of sexual violence and how a rookie officer tries to file a watertight case against him. The incidents shown in the film seem to be inspired by real-life events. Hence, an audience member asked the makers what made them take on such a risky project in today’s times.
Shiladitya Bora smiled and replied, “I am kind of crazy. I have built my career like this. I am a person with a very high-risk appetite. Hence, I was very excited about the subject and the topic. For me, it was like chhalaang laga; fir dekhte hai yaar! We have taken care of it legally. However, bahut zyada sochta toh shayad yeh film nahin banti!”
This writer asked about the release plans. Shiladitya Bora said, “Currently, we are in talks with a major platform. That’s one route that we are figuring out, whether to do a direct to digital release or do a theatrical as well. What should we do? Should we go for theatrical?”
The crowd said ‘Yes’ in unison. Shiladitya, excited with the answer, continued, “Maybe, in the next couple of months, the film will be out for the audience. We are in the final stages of putting together the release plan. We have got interest from major distributors from everywhere, including North America.”
The host raised laughs as she said that it’ll be difficult to sell the film as it’s female-led with no songs and minimal action. Bikas Ranjan Mishra remarked, “In our film industry, females are in powerful positions. Yet, I wonder ek certain female-led films se kya pareshaani hai? To all those women in positions of power, why don’t they support such a story?”

Despite the arrival of Pixar’s animated sci-fi comedy and having already spent a month in theaters, Sony’s sports comedy GOAT continues to deliver steady numbers in the region. Benefiting from positive word-of-mouth among moviegoers, the film collected a solid $1.2 million on its fifth Friday at the domestic box office, marking just a 17.6% drop from the previous Friday.
At its current pace, GOAT is projected to add around $4.5-$5.5 million over the three-day weekend. The film’s domestic total now stands at $87.1 million, and with an additional $62.5 million from overseas markets, its worldwide gross has now reached $149.6 million. According to Box Office Mojo’s annual worldwide chart, this makes it the sixth-highest-grossing release of 2026 so far. It remains to be seen whether the film can eventually cross the $200 million milestone globally during its ongoing run.
