The Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 19, aired on November 23, 2025, turned out to be one of the most eventful installments of the season. Host Salman Khan welcomed producer Ekta Kapoor, who returned to the show after her earlier appearance to promote Naagin 7. This time, however, her visit was driven by a new purpose.

Ekta Kapoor arrived on the BB19 stage to introduce her latest venture, the Balaji Astro app, which has already completed its first phase of testing. But her visit wasn’t limited to promotion—she had her eyes on potential television talent inside the house, a tradition she has followed for several seasons. True to form, Ekta selected Tanya Mittal and Amaal Mallik for roles in her upcoming TV series, surprising both contestants with direct offers.

Ekta offered Tanya the lead role in her new show and asked her to meet immediately after her eviction to discuss the project in detail. Tanya was overwhelmed with emotion, as acting in TV serials had been her long-standing dream. During a recent family-week interaction, she had even sought her younger brother’s permission to pursue television work and was thrilled when he encouraged her. Receiving Ekta’s offer left her “over the moon,” and she expressed gratitude, calling the opportunity “a dream come true.”

Ekta also picked Amaal Mallik for the same show, giving a humorous astrological explanation for choosing both contestants. She noted that Tanya and Amaal share the number 10 in their Rahu, joking that people with such alignment “can make the world revolve around them.” In essence, she admired their bold energy and felt they would shine on screen.

Later in the episode, a light-hearted moment unfolded when Gaurav spoke about life after Bigg Boss, joking that outside homes would feel too small. Tanya quipped she would finally move into a bigger house, only for Gaurav to tease her about Mumbai’s cramped beginnings. When he joked that her “hero” was sitting right there, Amaal quickly responded, “I won’t do it—no matter how much money I get, I won’t work with her,” sparking laughter among housemates.

The director told Business Insider that he flat-out refused to show Universal executives the film’s final shot: a close-up of Glinda (Ariana Grande) whispering into Elphaba’s (Cynthia Erivo) ear, a direct recreation of the iconic original Broadway poster.

“Yes. It was always the plan. I was always going to end on the whisper,” the director shared. “Do you know how hard it was to force Universal to never use it in any marketing material? They even had a poster of it for the first movie, and I was like, ‘Why are we releasing this poster? We should never acknowledge the whisper. Never. Never.’”

“I wanted it to feel like we didn’t care about it,” he continued, “then suddenly it’s the last shot in For Good. So the studio never saw that final shot. I imposed a huge thing: ‘Do not show this shot!’ They wanted it so badly.”

Jon also revealed he has no idea what Ariana whispered to Cynthia while filming the moment.

“That poster is one of the most brilliant posters ever made,” said the filmmaker. “You don’t know what Glinda’s saying, because they never actually do that in the musical. But it’s sort of the key to friendship. That we have these secrets. And the girls got to choose what they are actually saying in the scene. I don’t even know what they said.”

And Cynthia agrees, telling Today she “would never say” what Ariana whispered.

Another high-profile video game franchise is being adapted into a TV series.

Director Vetrimaaran is all set to direct a film titled Arasan, which has already started creating a lot of anticipation in the Tamil film industry. The leading man of the film is Silambarasan TR, one of the most awaited combinations this year. This powerful combination will be further joined by composer Anirudh Ravichander whose music reportedly adds a dynamic and intense layer to the film’s narrative. The film was titled in October, and since then, fans have been pretty eager to know how the movie fits into Vetrimaaran’s universe.

Early reports suggest that Arasan carries thematic and stylistic links to the critically acclaimed Vada Chennai universe, known for its raw storytelling, layered characters, and gritty portrayal of North Chennai. Vetrimaaran returning to this world sent fans into a tizzy, with many considering him as one of the strongest voices in contemporary Tamil cinema. His knack for weaving together rooted and emotionally charged stories raised expectations that Arasan will offer a similar immersive experience.

The confirmation that the highly esteemed actor Vijay Sethupathi joined the cast increased excitement about the movie manifold. The addition of the star reunites him with Silambarasan after many years, a combination termed by the trade analysts as a big coup in terms of casting. Ginnifer Goodwin is opening up about her love story with husband Josh Dallas and how she knew they were going to get married before they even started dating.

The actors met while starring together on the ABC fantasy series Once Upon a Time in 2011 and have been married since 2014. The couple has two sons, born in May 2014 and June 2016. They recently made their first public appearance with the kids!

During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, airing on November 25, Ginnifer talked about falling in love with Josh.

“I feel like we’re so disgusting. We’re like we’re best friends and we like get along and we’re super annoying. We like love working together all the time. I know we’re gross,” Ginnifer joked.

She continued, “So he played Prince Charming and I was playing Snow White on this show Once Upon a Time and I know it’s so serendipitous, and I thought that, oh, this guy’s gonna be my best friend, because at that point I didn’t actually know that you could like have the whole package. [I] was super crushing out on him, but also I was like, you know, I didn’t think that it was gonna be in the stars for us.”

“So we actually, he’d never been to Disneyland. He had never been to a Disney park. And we were still not dating, but I was secretly pining, and I am a Disney nut. And so I took the entire cast to Disneyland after we shot the pilot, before we were going into the second episode,” Ginnifer said. “And I was sitting next to him on Big Thunder Mountain, and I have a photo of the moment that it happened, but he threw his arms in the air and he goes, ‘This is the greatest day of my life,’ and I was like, ‘I’m so marrying that guy.’ Like there was no question that like this is my soulmate.”

Veteran actor Dharmendra’s passing has plunged the film industry, his fans, and his family into deep mourning. Legends like Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, and many others expressed their grief through heartfelt tributes on social media. Among them, Alia Bhatt paid a touching homage, recalling her experience working with him in Karan Johar’s 2023 film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. She shared a still from the film featuring the two of them, and wrote on her Instagram Stories: “A legend who lit up every frame … and every heart. You will be missed, Dharam ji.”

Director Karan Johar, who helmed Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, also shared an emotional tribute. Posting a photograph of Dharmendra, he wrote: “It is an end of an ERA … a massive mega star … the embodiment of a HERO in mainstream cinema … incredibly handsome and the most enigmatic screen presence … he is and will always be a bonafide legend of Indian cinema … defining and richly present in the pages of cinema history … but mostly he was the best human being … he was so loved by everyone in our industry.”
