With a current global haul of $147.3 million, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, the latest entry in the Now You See Me franchise, has now broken into the top 25 highest-grossing films of 2025. And now, it is edging closer to achieving another milestone: surpassing the $150 million mark at the global box office, for which it needs to earn just $2.7 million more worldwide. It is expected to do so within the next few days.
As the threequel inches toward the $150 million mark, it is also closing in on the global earnings of Danny Boyle’s zombie horror sequel 28 Years Later, whose worldwide tally currently stands at $151.3 million. Before it hits that target, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is also nearing the global tally in Guy Ritchie’s 2017 epic fantasy action film, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Here’s how much more the Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson-starrer heist film needs to earn to overtake it.
Now You See Me: Now You Don’t vs. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword – Box Office Comparison
Let’s take a look at how the two films compare at the global box office, according to Box Office Mojo data:
Now You See Me: Now You Don’t – Box Office Summary

Domestic: $37.9 million
International: $109.4 million
Worldwide: $147.3 million

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword – Box Office Summary

Domestic: $39.2 million
International: $110 million
Worldwide: $149.2 million

As the above numbers suggest, the heist threequel needs to earn around $1.9 million more to outgross the Guy Ritchie-directed film in worldwide earnings. Given its current momentum, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is expected to overtake King Arthur: Legend of the Sword within the next few days.
Now You See Me: Now You Don’t – Break-Even Point
The third installment of Now You See Me was made on an estimated production budget of $90 million (via The Numbers). So, to break even at the box office, the heist film needs to reach the $225 million mark worldwide, using the 2.5x multiplier rule. This means that it still needs to bring in approximately $77.7 million to achieve that milestone. It remains to be seen whether it can hit that target before the end of its ongoing theatrical run.
More About Now You See Me: Now You Don’t
Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the heist film follows a new group of magicians who team up with the original Horsemen to steal a priceless diamond from a dangerous heiress. As they uncover her crimes, they employ bold illusions and clever teamwork to expose her and pull off their most ambitious trick yet.

Released in theaters on October 17, 2025, Black Phone 2 has been playing for around forty days now. Made on a relatively modest $30 million production budget (via The Numbers), the supernatural horror sequel starring Mason Thames and Ethan Hawke needed to earn approximately $75 million globally to break even at the box office, using the 2.5x multiplier rule. With a current global haul of $130.4 million (as per Box Office Mojo), this means the film has comfortably surpassed the break-even point and has generated an estimated profit of $55.4 million.
The Black Phone sequel’s next milestone would’ve ideally been to cross the $150 million mark worldwide. However, at its current pace and considering its digital availability, achieving this target appears to be out of reach during its current theatrical run. That said, the film is now closing in on the global earnings of Kathryn Bigelow’s critically acclaimed action thriller Zero Dark Thirty (2012). Here’s what Black Phone 2 needs to earn to overtake it at the global box office.
Black Phone 2 vs. Zero Dark Thirty – Box Office Comparison
Here is how the two films stack up at the global box office, based on figures from Box Office Mojo:
Black Phone 2 – Box Office Summary

Domestic: $76.6 million
International: $53.8 million
Worldwide: $130.4 million

Zero Dark Thirty – Box Office Summary

Domestic: $95.7 million
International: $37.1 million
Worldwide: $132.8 million

Based on the above numbers, the Scott Derrickson-directed horror movie currently trails Kathryn Bigelow’s film by roughly $2.4 million in worldwide earnings. Even at its diminished momentum and despite its digital release, Black Phone 2 is expected to outgross Zero Dark Thirty in the coming days. The final verdict is expected to become clear soon.
Black Phone Trails Its Next 2025 Targets: Mickey 17 & Ballerina
As of now, Black Phone 2 is trailing just behind its next two 2025 targets: Bong Joon Ho’s critically acclaimed sci-fi dark comedy Mickey 17 ($133.3 million) and Ballerina ($137.2 million), the John Wick spinoff starring Ana de Armas. To outgross them, the horror sequel needs to earn around $2.9 million and $6.8 million, respectively. If it gets the right push, especially during the upcoming weekend, it has a chance to overtake these two films in worldwide earnings.
More About Black Phone 2
Directed by Scott Derrickson, the sequel takes place several years after the original, with the now 17-year-old Finn (Mason Thames) still coping with the trauma of escaping The Grabber (Ethan Hawke). But the horror resurfaces when the masked kidnapper begins appearing in the disturbing dreams of Finn’s younger sister, Gwen (Madeleine McGraw), hinting that the nightmare isn’t over.

The Wait is Over: Mammootty and Vinayakan’s Kalamkaval Releasing on this date

The highly anticipated Mammootty and Vinayakan-starrer Kalamkaval was earlier supposed to release on November 27, 2025. However, the makers later announced a postponement. The new release date has now been confirmed to be December 5, 2025. Taking to their official social media, the team wrote,

“We know you’ve waited long… The wait will be worth it… #Kalamkaval In Cinemas Worldwide from December 5, 2025. Keep Calm and wait for him…”

Sources suggest the initial delay was due to pending digital rights deals, which have now been finalized to make way for a theatrical release.

Kalamkaval is a crime thriller in which a team of police lands in a remote border village in Kerala to defuse tensions between two warring communities. It is here that they discover a far more sinister crime traced to a single mysterious man. The story unfolds as his secrets are brought into the light, revealing a labyrinth of danger and intrigue.

There were speculations that the film drew inspiration from the real-life crimes of the notorious Cyanide Mohan, but the makers have officially dismissed these claims.

The film also stars Gibin Gopinath, Gayatri Arun, Rajisha Vijayan, Aravind SK, Shruti Ramachandran, and many others in important roles, alongside Mammootty and Vinayakan.
