Brabus Just Built A Convertible G-Wagen With Even More Power

(Brabus)

Less than three months after official word came that Mercedes is bringing back the convertible G-Wagen for the first time in a generation by posting images of the vehicle’s A-line on social media, the aftermarket specialists at Brabus have already put their own G Cabrio on the market.

To do it, the German outfit custom-developed more than 500 components to create the complex soft-top, including a claimed world-first application of an integrated carbon fiber roof bow, which “ensures that the roof contour remains unchanged even at high speeds.” Its mechanism is actuated by a four-stage gear that can open or close in 20 seconds with the push of a button located in the overhead control panel. Brabus even rain-tested the roof for 10 hours to confirm that all seals and sound-deadening materials function to OEM standards.

(Brabus)

As with the Brabus 800 variants that came before it, the “Brabus 800 Cabrio” gets the number in its name from the amount of horsepower produced by its twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, which produces 737 pound-feet of torque. How those figures translate to speed depends on which of the two 800 Cabrio models are selected.

(Brabus)

Equipped with Mercedes-AMG’s “Speedshift” nine-speed transmission, the street-focused 800 Cabrio will hit 62 mph in 4.0 seconds on the way to 150 mph. Brabus equipped its forged and CNC-machined “Platinum Edition” centerlock rims wrapped in supercar tires by Hankook, Brabus’s Korean technology partner. Brabus sports springs with threaded height adjustment allow the ride height to bedropped by up to 1.6 inches.

(Brabus)

But the edition that G-Wagen devotees will really pine for—and the only model that Brabus has provided images of—is the off-road-ready Brabus XL 800 Cabrio. While the 62 mph sprint time and top speed drop to a still-brisk 4.6 seconds and 130 mph, this brute is equipped with portal axles. Because the differential and axle tubes are mounted above the wheels’ centers, clearance is increased to a ridiculous 18.9 inches, nearly doubling that of the stock G-Wagen.

(Brabus)

The chassis has been bolstered with numerous components milled from high-strength aluminum, and special adjustable Brabus Ride Control coilovers were fitted, allowing the driver to select different setups for the titanium-coated aluminum struts from inside the cockpit. The alloys used in the Brabus Platinum Edition rims, which are wrapped in fat off-road tires, were specifically designed for the eight-lug pattern necessitated by the portal axles of this all-terrain cabriolet. The vehicle is finished in Pale Brown over a bold (borderline gaudy) red interior, which matches the wild red-lit tailpipe tips.

(Brabus)

Priced from $884,000 for the 800 Cabrio and $1 million for the XL 800 Cabrio, more info on both of Brabus’s custom convertible G-Wagens is available online.

Gamers Can Now Hunt Eminem’s Alter-Ego Slim Shady in ‘Hitman: World of Assassination’

Fresh off his Thanksgiving NFL Halftime Show collaboration with Jack White, rap icon Eminem and his notorious alter ego, Slim Shady, have officially entered the universe of Hitman: World of Assassination, as revealed in the new, limited-time mission Eminem vs. Slim Shady.

Launched this week, available now and running through December 31, the mission is free for all players via the Free Starter Pack (or as part of normal access for existing players), marking a unique crossover between a major music personality and the world of stealth assassination.

In this surreal new assignment, Agent 47 is enlisted by Eminem, who seeks to erase his past for good by eliminating Slim Shady. The mission transposes the typical game map into a bizarre, asylum-like environment; a former Hokkaido medical facility rebranded as the “Popsomp Hills Asylum.” The atmosphere is eerie and dreamlike, filled with twisted references to Eminem’s own history and provides an eerie backdrop for the brand new target.

Along with the mission, the developers at IO Interactive have released a themed Eminem vs. Slim Shady Pack which includes new cosmetic items like the Jar of Mom’s Spaghetti and the MC Fit, home-base cosmetics, and access to an Arcade contract version of the mission, all available until the end of the year. This event also kicks off the season of Eminem vs. Slim Shady, bringing fresh challenges, featured contracts, and other live-content updates to players.

Hitman: World of Assassination keeps pumping out high-profile collaborations and Elusive Targets with big names like Jean Claude Van Damme, Conor McGregor and Bruce Lee, among others. With co-op gameplay planned in the future as well as the upcoming 007 First Light game coming early in 2026, it pays to keep an eye on what IO Interactive has up their sleeve.

Michelin Guide Launches ‘Michelin Grapes,’ A New Global Rating For Wine

Michelin Guide Launches ‘Michelin Grapes,’ A New Global Rating For Wine
(Ribera y Rueda)

The Michelin Guide is extending its global gastronomical influence to the world of wine, uncorking a new distinction called the Michelin Grapes, a rating system designed to recognize wine producers using the same famous rigor that defines its restaurant and hotel selections, the brand announced.

The award will classify vineyards with one, two or three Grapes, along with a category of selected producers slated for regular review. According to Michelin, the Grapes system is intended as a trusted reference point for wine drinkers of all levels — from casual enthusiasts to seasoned collectors — and marks one of the most significant expansions of the Guide’s authority since Michelin Stars were introduced in 1926 and Michelin Keys in 2024.

“After having oriented wine-lovers towards the finest tables in more than 70 destinations and to the world’s most elegant hotels, the Michelin Guide is delighted to open a new chapter with the world of wine,” said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guide. “This new reference is designed for both the curious amateur and the most ardent expert — it rewards the men and women who are building the most demanding vineyards around the world.”

3 Levels of Distinction

Under the new system, three Grapes will signal exceptional producers whose wines remain reliable in any vintage. Two Grapes will recognize estates that distinguish themselves through excellence and consistent quality compared with their peers. One Grape will highlight very good producers known for wines of character, particularly in their strongest years. A “Selected” category will identify dependable vineyards chosen for continued evaluation.

A 5-Point Evaluation Process

To deliver consistency across global wine regions, Michelin inspectors will apply five universal criteria when assessing producers:

  1. Quality of agronomy, including soil vitality, vine balance and vineyard care.
  2. Technical mastery of winemaking processes, emphasizing precision and terroir expression.
  3. Identity, spotlighting wines that embody a distinct sense of place and cultural heritage.
  4. Balance, evaluating harmony between acidity, tannins, oak, alcohol and sweetness.
  5. Consistency across multiple vintages, rewarding wines that maintain or deepen quality year after year.

Michelin emphasized the independence of its approach, noting that assessments will be carried out by a team of professional wine inspectors recruited from backgrounds including sommelier work, wine criticism and production. Recommendations will be made collectively through a panel-review process.

First ‘Michelin Grape’ Regions: Burgundy and Bordeaux

The inaugural Michelin Grapes selections will be released in 2026, beginning in Burgundy and the Bordeaux region, two of France’s most storied vineyard landscapes. Michelin called the regions “emblematic” choices that reflect both the historical weight and cultural richness of French wine. Bordeaux, long regarded as a global benchmark for innovation and tradition, remains home to some of the world’s most prestigious estates. Burgundy, with its family-run vineyards and meticulous craftsmanship, has likewise shaped centuries of wine identity centered on terroir.

Michelin advised discerning diners and drinkers to stay tuned for the first Grapes announcements in 2026.

Samsung has, yet again, staked its claim as the first name in folding tech with the announcement of their upcoming Galaxy Z TriFold. Unveiled earlier this week, this is the company’s boldest reimagining of smartphone design yet; a device that folds twice to reveal an expansive 10-inch screen. Measuring a mere 3.9 mm at its thinnest point while also packing flagship-level hardware, the TriFold aims to merge the portability of a phone with the immersive display and productivity potential of a tablet without shortchanging on processing power or battery life.

Coming later this year in South Korea and early 2026 in the US, the Galaxy Z TriFold promises to blur the boundaries between work, creativity, and entertainment. When unfolded, the TriFold’s giant screen can mimic three 6.5-inch phones side-by-side perfect for editing photos, sketching designs, juggling spreadsheets, or streaming video while chatting. When it’s time to get down to work, built-in software like Samsung DeX and a host of other productivity software turns the phone into a full blown 10-inch portable workstation screen, complete with multi-window multitasking and dockable external support, turning the TriFold into something more akin to a proper laptop.

Official US Pricing has yet to be announced but this clearly isn’t a budget gadget and converting from the announced South Korean pricing pegs this TriFold north of $2,500. Early adopters are likely to pay a heavy admission fee to be the first to get their hands on the Galaxy Z Trifold and its premium, carry-everywhere flexibility. More details on pricing, specs and availability are likely to come from Samsung soon but only time will tell if the Galaxy Z TriFold actually lays the groundwork for what the future of smartphones will be.

Imran Khan’s Shocking Comeback with Aamir Khan and Vir Das in Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos Will Leave You Speechless!

Aamir Khan Productions has dropped a teaser announcing the movie Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, which is comedian-actor Vir Das’s directorial venture. The announcement video went viral in no time, as it left fans laughing out loud. But what got fans going berserk was none other than Imran Khan’s surprise entry in the film. The movie also has a robust lead cast that includes Vir Das, Mona Singh, Mithila Palkar, and Kavi Shastri. Watch out for a great mix of humor, action, and romance.

The teaser leads with Aamir Khan humorously questioning Vir Das’ creative choices right from the way he has performed romance to action to even an item number. The playful critique coupled with shots of the entire cast in action upscales the charm in the announcement. Fans were treated to the witty caption “From Kya Banaya to Kya Banaya,” highlighting the comedic contrast in the conversation between Aamir and Vir. The video also discloses the official release date for the movie: January 16, 2026.

This is Vir Das’ second outing with Aamir Khan Productions after the cult comedy Delhi Belly, which generated instant interest owing to the nostalgic reunion. Add to it that Imran Khan will be returning to the big screen after a decade-long hiatus from his last outing Katti Batti in 2015. Khan had also directed Mission Mars: Keep Walking India way back in 2018, so this is his most significant acting comeback in years.

Aamir Khan Productions has been long known for their creative risks and giving viewers something rather unusual in film narratives, such as Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par, Dangal, and Delhi Belly. With Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, the production house follows through with its tradition of innovative storytelling, bringing together an ensemble of extremely talented actors.

With this eclectic mix of humor, action, and star power, Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos is already becoming one of the most talked-about films in early 2026.

Spirit Of The Week: Frey Ranch Second Harvest Whiskey

Spirit Of The Week: Frey Ranch Second Harvest Whiskey
(Frey Ranch Second Harvest Whiskey)

“The Harvester Series is a way of celebrating our grains the same way wineries celebrate the crush, which we are able to do because we are one of only a handful of distilleries in the world that grow 100% of the grains used to produce our whiskeys,” Frey Ranch’s Colby Frey shares with Maxim. The “crush” being when vintners harvest their fields, a special time in many vineyards when they celebrate the act of juicing their grapes—be it via machines or foot-stomping. For the fifth generation farmer, whose family has tilled the soil here since 1854, Colby and wife/co-founder Ashley imagined their Harvester Series to celebrate his farm’s same moment—except with whiskey instead of wine.

At Frey Ranch this ‘grain-to-glass’ philosophy isn’t just poetic, it is the framework behind one of the most ambitious whiskey programs in the country. And nowhere does that ethos shine brighter than in the farm’s Harvester Series. Consider the inaugural 10th Anniversary Edition, which celebrated a decade of distilling on the Frey farm by using all five of their whiskey-making grains (wheat, rye, barley, corn and oat) in the final blend—an incredible rarity that landed it as a Spirit Of The Week earlier this year.

(Frey Ranch co-founders Colby and Ashley Frey with Master Distiller Russell Wedlake)

As proven by their new Second Harvest, the Harvester Series is way more than just another line extension or a limited-edition curiosity. It’s the Frey family’s attempt to bottle the truest expression of their land and labor each year—a concept that would feel over-romanticized if they weren’t actually farming every single kernel of grain themselves on their 2,000-acre farm outside of Lake Tahoe. What separates the Harvester Series fundamentally from their core portfolio, and even other limited edition releases, is that unlike traditional whiskeys that begin with the selection of mash bills, barrel profiles, or conceptual direction, here everything starts—and ends—with the grain itself. “For the Harvester Series,” explains Master Distiller Russell Wedlake, “we essentially start with a blank canvas.”

Each year the Frey Ranch braintrust tastes through hundreds of barrels representing 14 to 17 mashbills, everything from unmalted grain runs to experimental malts to traditional bourbons. Their longtime collaborator, the renowned blender Nancy Fraley, joins the process to help identify which grains are “speaking” that year. The final direction follows the harvest’s natural voice, not a pre-conceived idea dreamed up in a marketing meeting. “Each release is dictated by whatever the grains are telling us that year,” Colby explains. “The ‘First Harvest’ was more rye-forward, while this ‘Second Harvest’ is wheat-based with malt as a modifier.”

“There wasn’t a predetermined strategy,” Wedlake adds. “For the ‘Second Harvest,’ it was the wheat barrels that were really shining. We let the liquid guide us rather than forcing a concept.”

(The Frey Ranch farm in Fallon, Nevada)

The newly released Harvester Series: Second Harvest leans naturally into wheat, not by design but because those barrels were the ones that rose to the top. Far from a traditional wheated whiskey, however, the blend incorporates a ‘quad malt’—malted corn, wheat, rye, and barley — along with unmalted barley, with even some bourbon barrels thrown in for good measure. The result is layered, textural, and unexpectedly complex, with the base grain bringing harmony rather than dominance.

This is where the Harvester Series elevates into something much more interesting than a distillery merely showcasing its grain purity. It becomes something close to an agricultural time capsule of sorts—a sensory reflection of a specific patch of Nevada soil. Frey Ranch may produce alfalfa that travels to China, Dubai, and Japan, but the grains destined for whiskey never leave the farm. “Being able to take the grains we grow, create whiskey we love, and share that with people is the best feeling in the world,” Colby says proudly, illuminating the tangible satisfaction of a farmer who finally gets to taste the crops he’s nurtured with his own hands.

“Being able to take the grains we grow, create whiskey we love, and share that with people is the best feeling in the world.”

Colby Frey

It’s worth noting that a major part of refining those decisions is the partnership with the aforementioned Fraley. One of the most respected blenders in American whiskey, “The Nose,” as Fraley is affectionately known, has worked with many of our independent favorites including J. Henry & Sons, Wyoming Whiskey, Virginia Distillery, Still Austin and more. Unsurprisingly, collaborating with the legend has changed the way both Frey and Wedlake approach flavor. “I’m very logical in my approach to distilling and blending,” Russell says. “Nancy brings a strong emotional and sensory perspective to how people experience whiskey. That combination created a perfect balance, because we don’t need everyone thinking the same way.”

Colby puts it simply: “We feel we got the best blender working with the best grains and distilling practices to create the best possible whiskey.” The results speak for themselves: both First and Second Harvest sold out online in under 20 minutes. Bottled at a stout 61.22-percent ABV (122.44 proof) and packaged in an elaborate silo-shaped metal container, Frey Ranch Harvester Series: Second Harvest Whiskey is worth searching for at its $250 SRP
