Bhumi Pednekar is currently receiving widespread appreciation for her performance in the recently released series Daldal. Known for her versatility, the actress has built a reputation for portraying layered and socially relevant characters across films and digital platforms.
From her debut in Dum Laga Ke Haisha to impactful roles in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Bhakshak, Bhumi has consistently chosen projects that balance storytelling with substance. However, like many actors in the public eye, she has also faced criticism throughout her journey.
In a recent interaction, Bhumi spoke about how harsh reviews can affect her. She acknowledged that criticism does matter, as she believes every opinion carries a potential lesson — provided it is shared with empathy and constructive intent.
At the same time, she emphasised that the overwhelming support from audiences continues to motivate her. The positive reception for Daldal, she noted, has been especially rewarding. According to Bhumi, the appreciation she has received in recent days has reaffirmed her passion for acting and reminded her of the importance of connecting with viewers.
Directed by Amrit Raj Gupta, Daldal is based on the bestselling novel Bhendi Bazaar by Vish Dhamija. The series has been produced by Vikram Malhotra and Suresh Triveni under the banner of Abundantia Entertainment.
The narrative follows Rita, a determined police officer investigating a brutal murder case while confronting her own psychological struggles and systemic challenges within the force. During the investigation, she encounters a journalist whose involvement adds complexity to the unfolding story.
Looking ahead, Bhumi has several upcoming projects. She will next appear in Adhoore Hum Adhoore Tum, directed by Danish Aslam, alongside Imran Khan, who is set to make his return to acting after a long hiatus.
Additionally, Bhumi will reprise her role as Sophia Kanmani Shekhar in the Netflix series The Royals. The romantic comedy is directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana and features a strong ensemble cast including Ishaan Khatter, Dino Morea and Zeenat Aman.
As she continues to explore diverse roles, Bhumi remains focused on balancing criticism with appreciation — drawing strength from audience support.
