Bell & Ross just dropped the BR-05 Grey Mirror Steel, a boutique-exclusive limited-edition timepiece that clearly aims to make an eye-catching design statement. Limited to just 250 pieces worldwide, the steely timepiece expands the Swiss horologist’s BR-05 line by emphasizing mirror polishing and monochrome minimalism while maintaining the technical foundations of its signature sport watch.
The BR-05 Grey Mirror Steel substitutes traditional luminescence with a highly polished steel case, bracelet, and dial that reflects ambient light. Steel plays a central role in the design concept, and is treated here as both a color and light source. The satin-finished and mirror-polished surfaces are designed to soften steel’s industrial ethos and create a sculptural look that highlights the watch’s geometric architecture.

Measuring 40 millimeters wide and 10.5 millimeters thick, the BR-05 Grey Mirror Steel houses the automatic BR-CAL.321-1 movement, which offers a 54-hour power reserve. The movement has been modified to remove a date mechanism, reinforcing the watch’s minimalist aesthetic. Hours, minutes, and seconds are displayed against a mirror-polished rhodium-plated dial, with matching applied indices and hands designed to maintain legibility despite the reflective finish.
Bruno Belamich, the co-founder and creative director of Bell & Ross, describes the dial in a statement shared by the brand as appearing “sculpted from a block of pure metal,” noting that its polished surfaces transform the watch into a reflective object rather than relying on traditional luminous materials. He characterized the piece as both a “jewel-watch” and a futuristic expression of the BR-05’s identity.

The watch features a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and a sapphire caseback that reveals the oscillating rotor. Water resistance is rated to 100 meters. Buyers can choose between a polished-satin steel integrated bracelet or a black rubber strap fitted with a steel folding clasp.

Originally launched in 2019, the BR-05 collection famously marked Bell & Ross’s evolution from cockpit-inspired tool watches toward a more versatile, urban-oriented design language. While still rooted in the brand’s “circle within a square” signature, the BR-05 Grey Mirror Steel seeks to further focus on refinement and visual impact over technical cues, all with a signature shiny aesthetic.
The BR-05 Grey Mirror Steel is available now for $5,800 on a rubber strap and $6,300 on a stainless steel bracelet.
