Ameesha Patel recently took to social media to pen a note for Akshaye Khanna as Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar continues its successful run in theatres. The film, which released on December 5, features Ranveer Singh in the lead, with R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and Akshaye Khanna playing pivotal roles. Since its release, the film has drawn considerable attention, with a section of the audience and critics particularly praising Khanna’s performance as one of the antagonists.
In her post, Ameesha shared a throwback photograph from London during the promotions of their 2002 film Humraaz. The picture also included members of her family, whom she mentioned were visiting from Paris at the time. Along with the image, she wrote a note appreciating Khanna’s personality and body of work, describing him as “yet most unassuming and ego-less.” She added that she does not think he realises the impact his performances have had this year, calling him humble and unaffected despite the appreciation coming his way.

Akshaye Khanna’s portrayal in Dhurandhar has been widely discussed online, with many viewers calling it a strong return. However, it is worth noting that the actor has remained consistently active in recent years. Earlier this year, he was seen playing the antagonist in Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which went on to perform well at the box office. He also appeared as the lead actor in Akshardham: Operation Vajra Shakti, which released this year.
Prior to these films, Khanna had received praise for his performance in Drishyam 2 (2022), further underlining his steady presence on screen.
