Nandamuri Balakrishna’s long-awaited film Akhanda 2: Thandavam finally came out in theaters on Friday after numerous delays. Boyapati Srinu directed this Telugu fantasy action drama, which is a sequel to the superhit film Akhanda of 2021. Starring Balakrishna, the movie features Samyuktha Menon, Aadhi Pinisetty, Harshaali Malhotra, Jagapathi Babu, Kabir Duhan Singh, and Saswata Chatterjee in important roles. The film is produced by Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta, and Ishaan Saxena under the banners of 14 Reels Plus and IVY Entertainment.

Akhanda 2 had a spectacular opening at the box office on its first day. Including preview shows, the film earned approximately Rs 30.5 crore on its opening day. However, the film was set to release in theatres on December 5 but due to uncertainty, the makers announced on social media that the film would not be released on time due to “unavoidable circumstances.” 14 Reels Plus posted on X (formerly Twitter), apologizing to fans and assuring them of a positive update soon.

Despite these hurdles, the film’s performance remained strong on the second day as well. By noon on the second day, the film had earned Rs 3.19 crore. This brings the total collection over two days to Rs 33.72 crore. According to reports, the overall Telugu occupancy for the film was approximately 28.86 percent, which is considered satisfactory given the current circumstances.
