Dhurandhar: The Revenge has been making its mark at the box office since its theatrical debut on March 19. However, beyond the commercial success, a specific sequence in the film has become a major talking point. Danish Pandor, who plays the character Uzair Baloch, recently addressed the Central Board of Film Certification’s (CBFC) decision to cut a crucial portion of a high-intensity scene. The sequence in question involves Uzair Baloch, the brother of Rehman Dakait (played by Akshaye Khanna), who comes to power after Rehman’s death. To show his dominance over Lyari, Uzair confronts a rival gangster, Arshad Pappu. In the original cut, the scene took a shocking turn where Uzair was shown playing football with the severed head of his rival.
After directions from the censor board, approximately 25 to 30 seconds of this footage were trimmed. Speaking about the edit, Danish Pandor shared his thoughts with Moneycontrol, saying, “The censor board chopped off 25 to 30 seconds of that scene. When I read the script, I was excited about doing it. In the history of Indian cinema, we haven’t come across this scene. It was a big opportunity as an actor.”
Despite the bold nature of the script, Danish admitted he felt a sense of responsibility about how the audience would react. He explained, “At the same time, I was cautious about how people were going to perceive it. I had to make it convincing and relatable so that it doesn’t look like I was doing it for the heck of it.”
He explained that the performance required a strong emotional foundation to work effectively. Talking about the final outcome and the public’s response, Danish mentioned, “Thankfully, I proved it right. I did not disappoint the director and the audience. Somewhere, I felt I have justified that scene. A lot of people love that moment.” Dhurandhar: The Revenge stars Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. Also Read: Danish Pandor On Yami Gautam’s Surprise Cameo In Dhurandhar: The Revenge
