Hollywood is seeing the continued rise of Brandon Sklenar, and the latest move proves the industry is betting big on his future. According to Deadline Hollywood, Sklenar has signed a first look deal with Lionsgate to produce feature films through his production banner Vista Lane Pictures. The deal arrives shortly after the strong global performance of The Housemaid, the thriller that starred Sklenar alongside Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried. The film has reportedly grossed around 394 million dollars worldwide since its December release, making it one of the notable commercial successes tied to Sklenar’s recent career surge.
As sourced by Deadline, the agreement gives Lionsgate the first opportunity to develop and produce feature films created by Sklenar under Vista Lane Pictures. First look deals are common in Hollywood when studios want to secure long term creative partnerships with rising talent. It essentially means the studio gets the first chance to finance and distribute projects developed by the production company before they are offered elsewhere.
Lionsgate Motion Picture Group president Erin Westerman praised the actor while announcing the partnership. She described Sklenar as immensely talented and deeply committed to the craft, adding that his presence elevates every project he becomes part of. Westerman also noted that the studio was grateful for his work as Andrew in The Housemaid and that the collaboration reaffirmed how valuable he is as a creative partner.
Sklenar himself spoke about the inspiration behind launching Vista Lane Pictures. He said that films have always been his happy place since childhood and that he aims to create bold and exciting stories that provoke and inspire audiences. Beyond The Housemaid, Sklenar has quietly built an impressive portfolio. He appeared in It Ends With Us, which reportedly earned nearly 350 million dollars worldwide. He also gained major recognition through the Taylor Sheridan series 1923, where he starred opposite Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. Earlier in his career, he also appeared in the war epic Midway, another Lionsgate production.
Sklenar’s upcoming slate continues to grow. He is currently filming the romantic thriller Vegas: A Love Story alongside Maika Monroe, Paul Dano, Michael Shannon, and Judy Greer. He is also expected to reunite with filmmaker Taylor Sheridan for the upcoming action thriller F.A.S.T., which Sheridan has written for Warner Bros..
