Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to swing into theaters on July 31, 2026, marking the fourth solo Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the film promises a fresh start for Peter Parker following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The story picks up after Doctor Strange’s spell erased the world’s memory of Peter Parker. Now completely anonymous, Peter operates as a street level hero in New York City, focusing on everyday crime rather than multiverse chaos. As he investigates a string of criminal activity, he uncovers a deeper mystery that forces him to confront the consequences of his past decisions.
Holland returns as Peter Parker alongside Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, though the extent of their roles has been the subject of speculation. The cast also includes Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher, signaling a more grounded tone. Mark Ruffalo reprises his role as Bruce Banner, continuing the tradition of pairing Spider-Man with a major MCU figure.
Additional cast members include Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Michael Mando returning as Mac Gargan, and Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln, also known as Tombstone. Charlie Cox is widely expected to appear again as Matt Murdock, though official confirmation has remained limited.
Filming began in August 2025 with location shoots in Glasgow, Scotland, which doubled for New York City, before moving to Pinewood Studios in England. Production wrapped in December 2025. The new Spider-Man suit, teased on Spider-Man Day, features brighter red and blue tones and raised webbing inspired by classic comic designs.
Produced by Marvel Studios, Columbia Pictures, and Pascal Pictures, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, Brand New Day will be the 38th film in the MCU and part of Phase Six. With a renewed focus on Peter’s independence and identity, the film is positioned as the beginning of a new era rather than simply a continuation of the previous trilogy.
