Priyanka Returns to Indian Cinema with SS Rajamouli
Priyanka confirmed that she will soon return to Indian films with Varanasi, directed by the legendary S. S. Rajamouli.
Speaking about the collaboration, she shared her admiration for the filmmaker and hinted at the film’s significance in her career.
“The filmmaker’s name is SS Rajamouli sir, and he is one of the best that we have in India. His movie is going to be really career-defining for me, I think and I am very excited about it.”
The film marks Priyanka’s return to Indian cinema after her last Bollywood outing The Sky Is Pink in 2019 — and notably, her debut in the Telugu film industry.
Star-Studded Cast & Epic Storyline
Varanasi boasts a powerhouse cast featuring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran in key roles.
Priyanka will portray Mandakini, while Prithviraj will take on the antagonist role of Kumbha. Mahesh Babu will headline the film as Rudhra.
The film’s music will be composed by Oscar-winning composer M. M. Keeravani, further raising expectations.
Set for release on April 7, 2027, the epic action-adventure promises a visually rich narrative spanning multiple timelines and locations.

The film’s title was officially unveiled in November 2025 at a grand Hyderabad event, where Rajamouli also revealed a visually stunning teaser.
The teaser ends with a dramatic shot of Mahesh Babu’s character Rudhra charging through the sacred lanes of Varanasi on a bull — a moment that left audiences mesmerized.

Meanwhile, The Bluff is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video from February 25.
