Prime Video has officially unveiled the teaser trailer and global premiere date for the highly anticipated live-action series Spider-Noir, marking a major television milestone for Nicolas Cage, who takes on his first-ever leading role in a TV series.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television exclusively for MGM+ and Prime Video, the series will debut domestically on MGM+’s linear broadcast channel on May 25, 2026. Just two days later, on May 27, it will premiere globally on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories as a binge release.
One of the most unique aspects of the show is its dual-format presentation. In a bold creative decision, audiences will be able to watch the series in either “Authentic Black & White,” preserving the classic noir atmosphere, or in “True-Hue Full Color.” This rare viewing option allows fans to choose how they want to experience the dark and moody world of 1930s New York.
Inspired by the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir, the story follows Ben Reilly, portrayed by Cage — a weary private investigator struggling through life in Depression-era New York. Haunted by personal tragedy, he is forced to confront his mysterious past as the city’s once-legendary masked hero, navigating a morally complex world filled with secrets and shadows.
Alongside Cage, the ensemble cast includes Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson. The series also boasts an impressive guest lineup featuring Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Amanda Schull, Amy Aquino, and Andrew Robinson, among others.
The first two episodes are directed and executive produced by Harry Bradbeer, while Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot serve as co-showrunners. The show is developed with creative input from the Academy Award-winning team behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse — Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal.
With its vintage setting, psychological depth, and innovative format, Spider-Noir promises to deliver a darker, more introspective take on the iconic superhero legacy.
