Actress Mrunal Thakur is gearing up for the release of her upcoming romantic drama Do Deewane Seher Mein, slated to hit theatres on February 20, 2026. As anticipation builds around the film, the actress recently addressed personal rumours that had been circulating online — particularly claims about her allegedly tying the knot with Dhanush.
During a candid conversation with Galatta Plus, Mrunal was asked whether wedding bells were on the horizon for her. The actress responded with clarity and humor, firmly dismissing the speculation. “Me? No, nope. I think February 14 is going to be April 1, which is April Fools’ Day. I don’t know who started this. It’s a scary space right now because some people spread rumours like ‘Mrunal officially confirmed her marriage,’” she said.
Her statement comes after several reports suggested that Mrunal and Dhanush were planning to get married this month. The rumors gained traction across social media, with unverified claims stating that the two actors were preparing to enter wedlock soon. However, Mrunal’s direct response has now put the speculation to rest. By addressing the issue publicly, she made it clear that there is no truth to the claims.
While her personal life grabbed headlines, Mrunal remains focused on her professional commitments. In Do Deewane Seher Mein, she stars opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi in what promises to be an emotional and relatable love story. The romantic drama revolves around two socially awkward millennials navigating life and love in Mumbai. As they grapple with self-doubt, insecurities, and societal expectations, their journey takes them from the bustling chaos of city life to the calm and introspective atmosphere of the mountains.
The film is directed by Ravi Udyawar and features a strong supporting cast, including Ila Arun, Joy Sengupta, Ayesha Raza, Inesh Kotian, Sandeepa Dhar, Deepraj Rana, and Mona Ambegaonkar in pivotal roles. With its blend of romance, self-discovery, and emotional growth, the movie is expected to strike a chord with younger audiences.
Apart from this romantic drama, Mrunal also has another highly anticipated project in the pipeline. She will be seen in the lead role in Dacoit, a romantic action entertainer co-starring Adivi Sesh. The film is now scheduled to release on April 10, after reportedly being postponed from its earlier March 19 date to avoid a box office clash with Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic. With its mix of romance and high-octane action, Dacoit is expected to showcase a different side of Mrunal’s on-screen persona.
Meanwhile, Dhanush, who was at the center of the marriage rumours, is equally busy with his own slate of projects. The actor will next appear in Kara, directed by Vignesh Raja. The thriller stars Mamitha Baiju as the female lead and also features Karunas, Jayaram, and Suraj Venjaramoodu in key roles.
Additionally, Dhanush recently launched another ambitious project, tentatively titled D55, which boasts an ensemble cast including Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, and Sreeleela.
As both actors remain immersed in their professional commitments, Mrunal’s firm clarification serves as a reminder of how quickly rumours can spread in the digital age. For now, the actress is channeling her energy into her upcoming releases, letting her work — rather than speculation — take center stage.
