Speculation surrounding Jailer 2 is reaching fever pitch as new reports hint at an impressive lineup of cameo appearances in the Rajinikanth-led sequel. While the makers have yet to make any official announcements, the growing buzz has already set fans buzzing with anticipation.
The latest name to surface is Tamil actor SJ Suryah, who is reportedly set to make a special cameo in the much-awaited sequel. Adding fuel to the speculation, Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar recently spoke about his shooting experience and shared that he shares a strong bond with Rajinikanth. He also mentioned that SJ Suryah’s humour kept the sets lively and energetic—an indirect confirmation that the actor is indeed part of the project.
Perhaps the biggest surprise, however, is the reported involvement of Shah Rukh Khan. According to circulating reports, the Bollywood superstar will appear in a pivotal cameo as Rajinikanth’s close friend and confidante. A source quoted by Hindustan Times claimed, “Shah Rukh plays the role of Rajinikanth’s close friend and confidante, whom he trusts with his life.” The news has sent fans of both icons into a frenzy, imagining the powerhouse pairing on screen.
Adding to the excitement, veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty recently confirmed SRK’s special appearance in the film. Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi has also revealed that he has filmed a cameo in Jailer 2. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Sethupathi shared that he agreed to the role out of admiration and respect for Rajinikanth. He described the opportunity as one driven by affection rather than professional obligation, emphasizing his desire to learn from the superstar.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 serves as the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer, which was both a critical and commercial success. Alongside Rajinikanth in the lead, the sequel is expected to feature appearances from prominent stars such as Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Vidya Balan, and Mithun Chakraborty, making it one of the most star-studded projects in recent times.
Once filming wraps up, Rajinikanth is set to begin work on his next project, tentatively titled Thalaivar173. The film will be directed by Cibi Chakravarthy and co-produced by Kamal Haasan under Raaj Kamal Films International, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Initially announced with Sundar C as director, the project saw a change due to scheduling conflicts.
