Digital content creator and actor Bhuvan Bam is stepping into a new chapter of his career as he makes his much-anticipated Bollywood debut with Kuku Ki Kundli, backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The romantic drama also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Manoj Pahwa, and Geeta Agarwal Sharma, and filming is already underway.
According to reports by Hindustan Times, the team is currently shooting in Lucknow, with a brief schedule planned in Kanpur. Sources revealed that the month-long shoot began in the upscale Ansal Golf City area before moving to a city mall location, which is being portrayed as New Delhi in the film. On Tuesday, the cast and crew were spotted filming at a dharamshala in Daliganj. Actress Wamiqa Gabbi is expected to join the shoot soon.
Interestingly, news of Bhuvan’s debut first surfaced in September 2025 after Karan Johar accidentally revealed the project during a live chat with comedian Zarna Garg. While praising Bhuvan’s journey from being one of India’s biggest YouTubers to expanding his creative horizons, Karan casually mentioned, “He’s been one of the biggest YouTubers, and now he’s doing a film for us as the lead actor.”
Almost immediately, Karan realized he had disclosed what was meant to be a closely guarded secret. A viral clip captured him reacting in shock, saying, “I think I f***ed up big time. I wasn’t supposed to. It was actually a big secret, and it was a big reveal at our end.” When pressed to share the film’s title, he quickly backtracked, adding, “Now that I can’t say! Bhuvan, I am so sorry. I don’t know how it just came out of my mouth. Giving away Dharma secrets on this live for no reason!”
The accidental reveal only fueled curiosity around the project. In October 2025, Bhuvan Bam officially confirmed the news on social media. Sharing an emotional message, he encouraged his followers to dream big. “Sapne dekho doston, poore ho jaate hain (Dream big, friends. Dreams really do come true),” he wrote.
With filming now in full swing, Kuku Ki Kundli marks a major milestone for Bhuvan Bam, transitioning from digital stardom to leading man on the big screen.
