Taking the stage to accept the honour, she said, “Good evening everyone. This is my second Filmfare and I’m really really happy that I got it for Raja Rani. Thank you Filmfare for honouring me with this award.” The happiness in her voice reflected how close the film was to her heart and how meaningful the recognition felt at that point in her journey.
She continued, I have a lot of people to thank for. First and foremost, thank you Fox Star Studios, A. R. Murugadoss sir, Atlee for giving me Regina, cameraman George C. Williams for making all of us look really really good on screen, Sathyaraj sir for being an incredible support to the entire team, Jai for being such a sweet co-star and the entire team of Raja Rani. And I would like to dedicate this award to the Raja of the film, Raja Rani, to Arya, this is for you. Without whom this wouldn’t have been possible. Thank you, thank you so much.” Her words beautifully captured the spirit of collaboration behind the film.
