The makers of The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond have unveiled the first teaser of the much-anticipated sequel, offering audiences a glimpse into a new narrative while retaining the controversial themes that defined the original film. Released on Friday, the teaser marks the return of producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah to the politically charged cinematic universe that sparked nationwide debate in 2023.
Shared on Instagram, the teaser was accompanied by a provocative caption: “Our daughters don’t fall in love, they fall in traps. Ab sahenge nahin… ladenge.” The post also confirmed that The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond is slated for a theatrical release on February 27, 2026.
Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, the sequel introduces three new protagonists—Ulka Gupta, Aishwarya Ojha, and Aditi Bhatia—who take the story forward. Unlike the first film, which featured Adah Sharma, Sonia Balani, Yogita Bihani, and Siddhi Idnani, the sequel shifts focus to a fresh set of characters while maintaining its central concerns around relationships, identity, and alleged religious conversion.
The teaser opens on a hopeful note, introducing the three young women as they speak about their dreams and aspirations. One hopes to become an IAS officer, another dreams of excelling as an athlete, while the third envisions a future as a successful social media influencer. The girls reveal that they fell in love with men who, they claim, had an “agenda of religious conversion.” According to the teaser, these relationships eventually lead to marriages that derail their personal ambitions and shatter their sense of security.
