Actor Ahaan Panday, who made his debut with Saiyaara, recently spoke about his childhood bond with cousin Ananya Panday in a chat with GQ in December 2025. Reflecting on growing up together, Ahaan described their early years as lively and creatively charged.
“We were animated kids; sword fights, plays, pretending to be kings and queens,” he said, adding that their upbringing played a key role in shaping their comfort with performance. “We got so much love at home. Acting is training, but also upbringing. We were always allowed to express ourselves.”
Sharing a lighter memory, Ahaan recalled Ananya’s fondness for gajar ka halwa. “She loved it. I remember her eating it four times a day,” he said. He also narrated a mischievous incident involving Ananya and their cousin Alanna that took an unexpected turn. “Once, she and Alanna bashed my head against the door—they thought it was funny, didn’t think I’d start bleeding and end up in hospital!” he recalled.
In the same interview, Ahaan spoke about being named on GQ’s Men of the Year honouree list alongside Ananya. He remembered discovering that she was shooting at Mehboob Studio on the same day as him. “There we were—brother and sister—standing in a vanity van, in costume, working. It’s a moment that’s burned into my memory,” he said.
Calling Ananya “unbelievably successful,” Ahaan noted that she has been supportive of his journey. He also explained why he has chosen to keep parts of his struggle private for now. “I’ve realised I can’t share much of my journey publicly yet; it’ll be misconstrued until I prove myself. My family knows my story, that’s why they’re emotional.”
On the professional front, Ahaan Panday will next be seen in an upcoming action film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and backed by Yash Raj Films.
