Atlee has shared his future career plans, involving Shah Rukh Khan. While he has only worked with the actor on Jawan, the film’s success had led many to curiously wait for a sequel. As per a recent interaction with the director during the second season of World Pickleball League, Atlee revealed that Jawan 2 may not happen any time soon.
Elaborating further to Hindustan Times, the director said, “I think me and Shah Rukh sir will work on definitely something. But Jawan 2, I personally feel, maybe some years later. Not the immediate next. But definitely me and Shah Rukh sir will look into something when it comes in its flow.”
He expressed keen interest in collaborating with King Khan. He revealed that the superstar had spoken about teaming up for something, though not necessarily a sequel. He added that this doesn’t mean the film is off the table altogether, it’s very much a possibility that he intends to explore at a later stage.
Atlee also discussed the recent reports of Shah Rukh wanting him to direct Don 3. Addressing the claims and social media discussions, he noted that the claims are only rumours. He said, “Oh oh! That’s a rumour. I also read it. No no, nothing like that.”
On the professional front, Atlee is now working on AA22xA6, starring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone. He hasn’t revealed about his other projects yet. Shah Rukh Khan, on the other hand, is preparing for his upcoming movie, KING. It is slated to be released on December 24, 2026. The movie also stars Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan and more in leading roles. A clip was shared on social media some time back, announcing the release date.
