BLACKPINK’s Jennie has marked her 30th birthday with a deeply personal gift — not just to herself, but to fans around the world. The global K-pop superstar has unveiled her first-ever photo exhibition in Seoul, opening the doors to a visual diary that captures one of the most defining chapters of her life.
Titled “J2NNI5,” the exhibition launched this Friday at the Youthquake Gallery in Seoul’s Jongno District and will run through January 29. The name cleverly plays on her nickname “Jennie” and the number five, representing the age — 25 — when these photographs were taken. Through this showcase, Jennie invites visitors to witness moments from a time when she was discovering herself beyond the spotlight.
Outside the three-story gallery overlooking the historic Gyeongbok Palace, a massive portrait of Jennie from five years ago welcomes visitors. Symbolically, the image faces the city where her journey began — a poetic tribute to her roots and evolution.
For this landmark project, Jennie collaborated with celebrated Korean photographers Hong Jang-hyun, Shin Sun-hye, and Mok Jung-wook. According to her agency, Odd Atelier, the exhibition presents “the most authentic fragments of Jennie discovered in unplanned moments.” The collection spans emotions — bold confidence, quiet vulnerability, playful spontaneity, and deep introspection — revealing layers rarely seen by the public.
The second floor features soft, naturally lit photographs that highlight a gentler side of the artist. These images sit beside striking monochrome portraits placed near floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Gyeongbok Palace, visually connecting Jennie’s present to her cultural heritage. The theme mirrors artistic elements from her recent performances, including her 2025 Melon Music Awards appearance where she wore a veil engraved with verses from “Cheongguyeongeon,” Korea’s oldest known collection of song lyrics.
The exhibition takes a more intimate turn on the third floor, showcasing muted, largely monochrome pieces. Among them are half-silhouette portraits, delicate hanging screen prints, and blue-toned images of Jennie submerged underwater — representing reflection, rebirth, and emotional depth.
The journey ends on the rooftop, where visitors step into a small booth to hear Jennie’s recorded narration. Words like “twenty-five,” “curiosity,” “time,” and “love” echo softly, leaving fans with a final, personal message from the star herself.
With J2NNI5, Jennie isn’t just celebrating a birthday — she’s sharing her story, her growth, and her heart.
