The former Maxim Hot 100 leader is particularly suited to providing such advice, given that she’s been the subject of several beachy photos for myriad magazine shoots, as well as countless images posted to her Instagram and the official account for Elizabeth Hurley Beach, her boutique swimwear line.
The 60-year-old stunner’s modeling prowess was on full display as she rocked her Cheetah Bikini from her eponymous brand in a new Instagram post, where she revealed her crucial tip.
“When I shot my first American Vogue cover (in a bikini, of course), the extraordinary Steven Meisel taught me how vital backlighting was for a flattering beach pic,” she wrote. “To this day I heed his wisdom, so here I am showing off @elizabethhurleybeach.”
Hurley has advised on achieving photographic two-piece perfection before. “BAN overhead sunlight,” she told her 3-million-plus IG followers in July 2025. “When shooting bikinis, sunrise or sunset are your best friends. We shot this at 7 a.m.… By 8am, I was lounging around in one of my equally flattering @elizabethhurleybeach kaftans, feeling glamorous AND shielded from the lethal sun.”
Off the beach, Hurley recently celebrated her first Christmas with boyfriend Billy Ray Cyrus, an event she celebrated by posting a photo of the couple wearing matching red PJs. The country-pop legend first appeared on Hurley’s feed in a cutesy mid-kiss Easter photo and has become a regular presence in her posts, whether the pair are cuddling in bed or finding tortoises in Hurley’s garden. Expect to see their first kiss of 2026 memorialized on the ‘gram as well.
