2026 is here and it’s significant because after 2018, this is the first time that all 3 Khans will have a release. The last time it happened was 8 years ago, when Salman Khan released Race 3, SRK presented Zero, while Aamir brought Thugs Of Hindostan in cinemas. In 2026, Salman Khan will arrive with his war flick, Battle Of Galwan, on April 17, 2026. Shah Rukh Khan’s King will be released in 2026-end. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan won’t have a full-fledged role, but he’ll be seen in an extended cameo, as per reports, in his production, Lahore 1947, co-starring Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Ali Fazal and Shabana Azmi. He’ll also have a special appearance in his other production, Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos.
Trade veteran Taran Adarsh said, “It’ll be something to look forward to. I have always said that Salman is the darling of the masses. He just needs to get it right. Once that happens, there’ll be no stopping as his fan following takes his films to another level.”
Trade analyst Atul Mohan agreed, “Battle Of Galwan looks nice. The public has been kind to him. Even when his films are weak, they make sure that it collects Rs. 100 crores. Sikandar also crossed the coveted mark. He’s the only consistent star who gives Rs. 100 crore grossers.”
However, distributor and exhibitor Raj Bansal said, “I am disappointed with the teaser of Battle Of Galwan. They should have shown blood on Salman’s face and he was shouting and charging angrily at the Chinese soldiers. It would have attracted audiences in hordes.”
Talking of King, Taran Adarsh stated, “Shah Rukh Khan is number 1 to number 5 in India and number 1 to number 10 overseas! Wait till King comes. I am very confident about it. Besides having Shah Rukh Khan and having a massive star cast, I am sure that Siddharth Anand will be coming up with something very different this time, as the stakes are high. Also, when you have a title like King, you need to serve king-sized entertainment!”
Atul Mohan also appeared confident despite the average business of SRK’s last film, “Dunki underperformed and that’s okay. Ek average picture maaf hai! Also, Pathaan and Jawan were huge grossers.”
But Raj Bansal opined, “I am not wowed by King’s teaser, but it’ll surely generate excitement.”
Lastly, on Lahore 1947, Taran Adarsh said, “The combination of Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi has delivered some fantastic films, which were also successful at the box office. I have immense faith in this combination; it’s unbreakable. Also, with the creativity of Aamir Khan as the producer, there’s no stopping this film.”
Atul Mohan added, “Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi’s combination has always been great. Sunny got 2 National Awards and both were for films directed by Rajkumar Santoshi – Ghayal (1990) and Damini (1993). Also, Aamir is associated with the project. It’s a subject close to Raj ji’s heart and it’s finally happening now.”
Raj Bansal predicted, “Lahore 1947 will fetch a huge opening. I have heard its story; it’s fantastic.”
However, Girish Johar producer and eminent film business analyst, cautioned, “From what I know, the character stays within Pakistan. It’s kind of opposite of Gadar. Nevertheless, Sunny Deol, Rajkumar Santoshi and Aamir Khan coming together will raise lot of expectations.”
Taran Adarsh noticed, “Sunny has delivered some great films with directors like Rajkumar Santoshi and J P Dutta. In 2026, while he reunites with Rajkumar Santoshi, he’ll also act in Border 2, which is backed by J P Dutta.”
