Vicky Kaushal had a memorable evening in Delhi on Friday as he was named Actor of the Year at the NDTV Indian of the Year 2025 ceremony. The actor received the honour for his powerful portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, in the film Chhaava. While the award celebrated his professional achievements, it was Vicky’s candid comments about fatherhood that truly stole the spotlight.
During an interaction at the event, Vicky was asked whether he had learned how to change diapers since welcoming his first child. Breaking into laughter, the actor replied, “I am better at changing diapers than acting. I’d just like to say that.” His humorous response drew applause and smiles from the audience.
Opening up about his new role as a father, Vicky shared an emotional note, saying, “It’s very tough. But one day when he watches this, he’ll be proud of his dad. I can’t express in words what it means to be a father.” The ceremony marked Vicky’s first outing outside Mumbai since he and wife Katrina Kaif welcomed a baby boy on November 7.
After receiving the award, the actor dedicated the honour to his family and newborn son. “Thank you for this honour. This is truly special and humbling. This award is for my family and my little one, who has come in as a blessing,” he said, adding that he hopes his son will one day watch the moment with pride.
